The opening shot of Birdman shows a meteor going across the skies, and similar shot appears yet again later on in the movie.
What was its significance?
I don't remember alot about the movie but I remember that the genre was aimed towards kids/young adults. The part that I remember the most was at the end of the movie there was a brother and sister that were sold/adopted by an evil doctor/scientist that performed experiments on them. I remember o...
What's wrong with that sunday? A fucking 15 ID questions? That's worth dropping the politeness of using "friggin". Was the site just advertized in the totally wrong circles or where did this suddenly come from? Or has someone just told everyone on the net to break this site apart?
I am trying to remember a movie I saw a few years ago. Unfortunately, I only remember bits and pieces, so here's everything I remember (and I hope, but make no promises that, I'm remembering it right), in no particular order:
The movie was in color and on dvd, not too terribly old, I think.
It ...
Movie starts with a man, who comes to a home. He says that he was with her son who killed in war. That man first protects them and when military people came to catch him he murders the women and run after the elder girl and younger boy. At the end, one of the children kill them with his own gun. ...
In the Hobbit 3 (Peter Jackson), why didn't the orcs use the worms to burrow directly into the mountain, or burrow straight to the gold, bypassing the armies? Why didn't they use the worms to battle, like Dune?
Late in the movie, Steve McQueen is about to share his backstory with Candice Bergen, and there is this graffiti in the background:
Just idle curiosity on my part, I happened to pause my DVR at this scene and was curious if the graffiti was placed there intentionally for this shot.
Well, if you want the technical answer, Jaime and Cersei first pretended to have sex when they were as young as six years old, it might even have been younger. As for the first time they actually did it, it would have been perhaps even the day after Cersei's first period ended (probably twelve or...
@AnkitSharma I don't think it does... but I've never actually read the books, so I don't know if the backstory exists somewhere... Based on his UN and the way he started his answer, I'm guessing it's a troll.
In the alternate versions of Watchmen, when Dr. Manhattan's has been forced to choice a symbol, he made one on his forehead representing a hydrogen atom. Why he choices this symbol? How is it relates to him?
Chappie boasts more of the big ideas and visual panache that director Neill Blomkamp has become known for -- and, sadly, more of the narrative shortcomings.
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is about as original as its title -- but with a cast this talented and effortlessly charming, that hardly matters.
Unfocused and unfunny, Unfinished Business lives down to its title with a slipshod screenplay and poorly directed performances that would have been better left unreleased.
This movie is a old one, before year 2000 (I think).
There is a scene where the man saw his "sister in law" in the spa, then the girl came inside and saw him making love with her sister,
then later she had and affair with him, and being killed.
That all I can remember, because this movie just stu...
@Walt Yeah, finally you took the courage. I hoped this would be one of the questions tackled, as the answer seemed near enough to grasp.
I already have millions (i.e. ~50) on my list I'll try to find the time for, too. (Of course I have to spare me from paying that bounty by answering as many questions as possble, and downvoting all the other answers.)
@Catija Seeing that it's Game of Thrones, I'll not write that off as nonsense. But true or not, I agree that it doesn't really proide that much of an answer (but could probably be fleshed out to do so). That being said, you'd wonder how many one-shot users give themselves user names fitting to their one and only question/answer. Doesn't need to mean he's talking crap.
@TomatoBot Meh, didn't hear much good about that yet, and I don't give a damn about Die Antvoord. Probably still going to watch it, afterall Elysium was pretty enjoyable, too, be it only for audiovisual and atmospheric reasons.
@Walt And "christening" was the wrong word, that A Few Good Men guy was 2 minutes faster than you. ;-P
Film starts with two men armed with shotguns committing a push-in robbery against what seems to be a normal suburban family. Early on, they have the family tied to chairs. Somehow the family gets free and it is revealed that the robbers have found a family of sadists who have a dungeon in the bas...
And afterall, that's what this challenge should motivate a bit, for people to try and answer something that they are not entirely sure if they can answer it, but might have something in mind already. That's especially often the case with such supposedly unanswerable questions.
The only disadvantage it has is, that it doesn't show the ones that already have answers from the challenge period. So it can't be used to check for results, too. But I'm trying to fix that too. Unfortunately I'm far from an SQL expert, though.
My brother, who's a passionate filmophile, is coming to live with me, and bringing his impressive movie collection with him.
Movies are something I've been meaning to get into for some time now, but my current schedule doesn't allow me more then several hours a week of hobby time, and that's mos...
I'm pretty sure it was Mark Hamill in the film (as I know for sure at the time I saw it that I believed it was him) and I believe his character was with a woman in said home, but this woman screams for whatever reason, making their presence known to whoever was living there.
In the novel (Life of Pi), the author never discussed the love interest of Pi. Neither did he discuss his sexual preference.
I find it annoying to shoehorn a love interest in the movie, especially if there is no payoff to it whatsoever. The time wasted developing the characters could have been...
I really like the sample at the end of the movie "Constantine" where Gabriel says "You're handed this... special gift, each one of you, granted redemption from the creator. In all the worlds in all the universe, no other creature can make such a boast, save man... murders, rapists, molesters... all of you, you just have to repent... it's not fair"
not only because it's a nice meaningful sample
but also because "it's not fair" makes a great hook
All I can remember is that story is about some alien device that turn people in mood, lot od beautifull girl, and lot of quite explicit sex scenes. Language is english
I wouldn't have guessed for people to jump onto that challenge that much on the first day. Makes me wonder if two weeks aren't too long. And I always thought people don't give damn about those challenges, but I guess answering is indeed much easier than asking (or the bounty is more motivating than I thought).
@NapoleonWilson I know we don't get them often but would it make sense to add "adult films" to the list of things we don't consider on-topic here... like news, sports etc.
It has been many years since I've watched The Farm: Angola, USA (I saw it as an Investigative Reports special on A&E), but there is a song sung by the prisoners as they're burying Bones (that may be off, it could be when they were talking about the funeral or it may not even be that Bones was the...
I asked the question in a way that I think should avoid offending anyone (e.g. "no links to adult sites or names of porn movies in answers, please").
Who was the first actor/actress who made the move from porn to non-porn movies full time?
However, I'm worried if even having adult movies theme ...
I am curious to know what this site's policy on identify-this-movie questions about pornographic films are. I have read the discussion at Are adult movies (as far as industry, actors, etc... are concerned) on topic?, but that question is 2+ years old now, and doesn't quite address this specific i...
Yeah, I agree with the first one (and the sample questions) I feel that ID questions go a bit far... I don't want to get caught knowing porn really well ;)
... which wouldn't happen because I don't know porn at all... which is another reason why it might not make sense here... though I'm sure there are many film lovers who also like porn... I don't know that there's enough of a crossover for us to have any chance of actually being able to answer the questions... assuming there's enough to go by. Even an actor name might not be enough with how prolific some of the porn stars are.
@Catija Well, it's not that the site becomes porn.se, though. The questions have been very rare, the few ones that survived were worth it and the shitty ones got killed pretty fast anyway. And fortunately enough most porn ID questions are downright bad questions on their own anyway. So I guess it's far from being an actual problem, yet. Mostly because most reasonable users know that it's a difficult topic that needs careful control and will act accordingly.
@Catija If you have anything to add to the existing discussion, though, feel free to do so. Or even ask a new question if you feel it needs reconsideration after 3 years.
I'll keep that in mind. I think I've seen 3-4 questions in the month or so I've been around, so it's definitely not a big deal. I can't imagine the difficulties Anime has with all of the hentai... and they get tons of identify questions based on images... though they try to quash those as much as they can.
@NapoleonWilson 'ID this commercial' and 'ID this music video' are pretty rare too, yet we outright ban them. So can't we just outright ban 'ID this adult film\show' too?
