@GiantCowFilms It's not too hard is it?

2 hours later…
15:58
@someonewithpc No...

3 hours later…
18:37
The deadline says "Deadline: November 21st 2014 at UTC +0000"
Does this mean it's at 00:00?

3 hours later…
21:10
I think so
@gandalf3 How's your submission comming along?
I only got an idea today
@gandalf3 Well... You knew about it long ago..
Is it still possible?
you have 2.5hours...
21:35
what?
I thought I had over 24
o.O
Yes
Sorry about that
27.5 hours
oh phew
22:19
Its over for me :/
@GiantCowFilms Y?
@GiantCowFilms ?
I've got so much to do this week other than the competition, I'm not even close to done... I've also been having some technical difficulties.
:(
D:
22:21
I still want to see what you come up with though :)
@GiantCowFilms Technical difficulties we might be able to help with...
@someonewithpc Okay...
22:41
does it have to be the default suzan, or can it be slightly modifyed?
You can do whatever you want
@someonewithpc I would be really grateful on tips for modeling a tree branch in detail... I've yet to find suitable reference, and still not on top of the hole thing yet...
But the more Suzanne references, the better :)
(i.e. no, it doesn't have to be the default Suzanne)
At least, that's my understanding of things..
@GiantCowFilms Sculpting?
Sounds really hard to model straight off and get a nice result
I have several (what I think to be) good ideas for the contest. Now I just have to pick one and make it :)
Seems like everyone is going for the "last second" approach :P
(including me)
22:46
I think we need to extend this a bit... I never seem to be able to allot time within a week.
not me, I still have a whole day
Me too
But I need to render the thing..
Secret: (It's an animation)
@GiantCowFilms NO, don't do that. dead lines are a good thing and every once in a while we have to stick to them.
@David I'm so jealous....
I think I'm going to agree until a half an hour before time's up. Then I'm going to change my mind :P
22:48
@gandalf3 not a secret: (that is against the rules)
@David ?? What rules is it against?
emergency change of strategy in progress
This isn't looking good...
hm.. I can't "un reply" a message?
@gandalf3 I thought animations were. But now looking at the rules it seam to not mention them.
I think they were to be judged separatly
So highest upvoted animation and highest upvoted still both win
22:51
ok, go for it. but my still will render way before your animation, even with your super computer.
Very true
models faster
(especially since I don't have a super computer)
It is much better then any of mine
spends more time on modeling than chatting
:P
"This is an image only contest. No animations are accepted." I found the rule I was thinking of, here
22:55
To late to change now, but I think it will be good to eliminate animations in the future.
@gandalf3 I just hope you aren't making one to, if you are, I wont win. :-(
Why not?
@gandalf3 since I'm spending more time chatting then modeling, :) one of my ideas was to make the pieces of the ceiling falling down at the blender conference to be Suzannes.
haha
goes back to modeling
i haven't stopped modeling, if i do i might remember i have to texture it, and i really hate texturing stuff.
23:16
@gandalf3 please kick me, i keep adding too much detail, I'll never be able to texture it all.
@X-27 Furiously kicks, realizes there is a wall and jumps in pain. Cries...
@X-27 I won't kick you (there is a wall in the way anyway :P) ;) Detail is good, but think about what will be seen and what won't.
As in, what will the eye be drawn to?
@gandalf3 Me hurting myself isn't something to ";)" smile about
't ?
I put the ';)' there before you kicked the wall...
good point, no need creating the wires that connect the control panel to the wall on the interior when it is an exterior shot.....
and then it does need to render by the 21st...
