Q: Is there a standard, most common, or most neutral Spanish term for "chat room"?

hippietrailJust earlier I was about to mention to somebody in Spanish that I was in a Stack Exchange chat room and I realized I didn't know how to say it in Spanish. There's a bunch of words for "room": cuarto habitación sala salón There's also at least a couple of words for "chat": charlar platicar ...

Q: Is indirect speech marked in Spanish?

HauserIn German you have to use modus, in English tempus for verbs, to mark indirect speech. There seem to be no detailed rules for Spanish when I look it up on Wikipedia. So are there any common/non-mandatory rules/ways how to mark indirect speech? Or can I use any modus/tempus in a He said that....

I'm really not sure what that question means
either it's completely trivial... or it's far above my head
