@PaulWhite Which version do you personally most want to see running? I think it was you who asked for 2012?
 
@JackDouglas I may have said that, but I am famously inconsistent. Today, I would choose 2016.

@JackDouglas I'm not sure. There was a 2012-specific question yesterday where I answered and had to use 2014 in my db<>fiddle, but I don't know how common that is.
 
I have always said I am nothing if not consistent.

@JackDouglas I forgot the specifics of the licensing issue. Was it windows or sql server which caused problems? There are docker solutions for more versions than Microsoft officially supports
