per say ...
Thank you. This is an interesting link you posted. I don't require nosql per say. But the backend I will be using for my app which has all the functionalities I want, offers (like many backends) noSql type of database — Snake 45 mins ago
Hello everyone
SQL Server 2008:
I have a table called `Machines` with columns `MachineID, MachineName, Counter`.
and another table called PreventiveMaintenance which hold the types of the maintenance that the machine should do
+----+------------+
| ID |     PM     |
+----+------------+
|  1 |    PM 250  |
|  2 |    PM 500  |
|  3 |    PM 750  |
|  4 |    PM 1000 |
|  5 |    PM 2000 |
|  6 |    PM 6000 |
+----+------------+
The conditions:
If the machine work 250H it should do a PM250
If the machine work 500H it should do a PM500
...until 6000H
then
If the machine work 6250H it should do a PM250
There is a table relate those tables called PM_Machine
@ypercubeᵀᴹ brrr
When for example Machine.Counter = 250
then insert a row in PM_Machine
Don't try Latin if you don't get it
@ypercubeᵀᴹ I think that's how per se is pronounced in English.
18:14
@AndriyM Yeah, pronounced maybe, not written.
@TomV The comment doesn't require latin per say

@JoeObbish exactly
Look I make a lot of errors when trying to write or speak English or French when required. When it adds nothing and you're just trying to be fancy make sure you master it
@TomV what's your native language? I thought it was French
Dutch but I honestly think my French is ok
Better than my English anyway
yeah I used to occasionally use latin like that
then I realized that I was being stupid and it added nothing, so I stopped
18:18
Ok
is "etc" latin?
@JoeObbish in origin
Et cetera is
well I'm guilty of that one, but I think no others
E. G. Is too
I stopped using that one
18:20
Etc
French
Which mean "Etcetera" in english
Etc would probably work equally well if you just used 'and so on' in English
Now, I understand that my question is not clear
French would probably be 'et ainsi (de suite)'
You mean "La suite"?
@Sami no
18:41
@AndriyM siekwel is how sql would be pronounced in Dutch but that doesn't make it correct
Now, mybe may question will be clear rextester.com/LAF54811
I need just an idea to solve this problem. Please
@TomV Be siek, get wel. siekwel.
18:59
@ypercubeᵀᴹ no sick:well = NoSQL
@Sami what problem?
@Sami if I understand what you mean it's an application problem
yeah, there wasn't a question mark that I could find in any part of that
19:18
I especially don't see how the database can distinguish between a machine operating 8 hours or breaking down
I'm probably missing something. That happens a lot
@TomV How often? Once per say?
😀
Yeah it hurt typing that
@TomV Why it's an application problem? I try to use a trigger on "Machines" table
but my trigger will fail when the value of "Machines.MachineCounter" > 6000
github is "git for dummies", right? yet I still find it difficult to use...
19:40
@PaulWhite are you here all week? I'll check out the veal
@Sami what trigger? I don't see any in your code
Anyone got any ideas for dumb things involving CCIs (bad column definitions, maintenance issues, partition definitions) that can be programmatically checked for? Already got a list of 20 or so
20:00
@JoeObbish it's a git repo + a fancy web interface
Nothing stops you from not using it ;)
not true
there's this guy who lifts weights who is making me use it
@JoeObbish ah, I suppose you have to use it to make PRs?
I don't know what a PR is
personal record?
pull request
But I don't see how one can "make" you use github. A github repository is a git repository, as any other.
What are you forced to do?
well I don't know anything
so that limits my options
