Yeah, he's not supposed to be on it after hours. Can't decide whether to just lock him out of the wireless network at bed time, take away the devices, set up CCTV in his room so I can yell at him, etc
It's become quite the power struggle lately. End of last school year, I kept hearing him making noise in his room and went in at midnight. He's got his clock radio up to his face using the red LED to read a book (I had removed the flashlight the previous night)

Yeah, I was looking at my plan since I'm a neophyte with partitioning and comparing it to that post and it saved me some time as I'd have been waiting some time for it to get through all that data
I thought making sure the delete was taking advantage of the partition was enough but it's dirt slow. This though, this makes me very happy. I need to get home and write this up (not that it's new or a revelation but at least I'll remember all the gotchas I saw doing this)
Oh and back to my thing about loading the table. At least from an estimated query plan perspective, inserting from a heap into the clustered table is forcing a sort so perhaps a clustered key is in order
