@Halfthawed Thanks for pointing it out. I'll take a closer look, but my gut reaction is that there's not much we can do about it. I agree with what you're saying; the issue's just a technical one - we don't have the tools to look at it on a vote-by-vote level.
But like I said, I'll do some more digging and see if I can find anything else.
Looking at users' public reputation histories, yeah, each of those answers received a downvote within ~60 seconds of each other, so yeah, it was definitely all done by one person. Not much we can do, though.
@HDE226868 It might be possible to find if you looked for someone who received 8 minus ones within that time frame, if you can check the public reputation histories. Obviously, checking manually would take too much time but it should be possible to write a web scraper program to do it ... is what I would say if I knew how to write web scraper programs, but sadly I do not.

That's because, from our perspective, this is a Question & Answer site dedicated to Worldbuidling and occasionally there will be worlds a...
And the answers got hit with another wave of downvotes - well, at least some of them did. Whatever. It's not like I haven't gotten hit with way more downvotes on this site for even less controversial opinions.
This is actually entertaining. I should make myself some popcorn.
