@Bellerophon If they're dragonoid enough, they may simply be fireproof.

@Shalvenay well, let's assume the humanoid evolved from dragon and human ancestors instead of a being designed that way. Dragons will have egg teeth to escape the eggs. Humans have no equivalent gestation mechanisms. At all points in the life of this humanoid species, all individuals must maintain egg teeth to escape the egg.
We know this because the species still exists.
This pattern holds with all characteristics. Heat resistance, egg teeth, egg laying, everything...
This raises an interesting question. Human babies are not precocious at all. Dragon babies are fairly to highly precocious.
Would dragon-people be physically capable at hatching but still require extensive raising to adulthood?

yeah, the X factor here is that it's a first-gen half-dragon I'm dealing with

@Shalvenay ...I did not want to imagine the mechanics of that. Thanks for the nightmare fuel.

@Shalvenay bred or genetically built?
Eh. No difference. An egg tooth is the correct tool for exciting an egg unless the designer wants / needs to come up with something else.

@Green I didn't know you could excite an egg. What does an excited egg look like?

@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica Don't you mean egg-cited?

Is this on-topic on Worldbuilding.SE? I usually live on Writing, where asking for critique or advic...
