@Secespitus I need someone with knowledgability about Germany
Whereabouts in Germany are you from?

2:18 PM
Back.
And to respond to James' comment, no I do not. In fact, the alternate timelines with that in mind usually needs to involve some kind of accident escalating.
B-59 firing nuke? Total accident.
Naval engagement off the coast of Crete caused by a misunderstanding? Also a total accident.
None of which were direct orders from Moscow or Washington DC.

2:43 PM
@kingledion I'm from northern Germany, near Hamburg.

Hello!
@Secespitus So, that isn't exactly what I'm asking about, but you still might be able to help
So here is the deal: I'm building a model to estimate the size of cities at various areas (500 km^2, 2000 km^2, etc) and I'm working on what areas to assign to which cities
So the Westphalia has a lot of cities, and I've basically decided to center one group on Essen, and one on Koln, after studying the literature I can
So in your opinion, should Dusseldorf belong with Koln or Essen/Ruhr?
And also, should Solingen/Wuppertal belong with Koln or Essen?
So, side note, I start all my sentences with so....I should look into that

... Sorry, I have no idea. I'd say not to put Düsseldorf and Köln together, but that's mostly because I remember they have different favourite beers or something like that in those regions and are always making fun of each other :D

Indeed
Beer rivalry can be key
Something this makes me think of is the beer situation in West Africa....each country has its national beer and they all suck
except for Togo!

I don't think I've ever tried beer from Togo

Which was, of course, a German colony! You guys did something right, because they have some good beer

2:54 PM
We are always doing everything right. Especially when it's about beer.

1 hour later…
4:10 PM
@James your audio looks amazing! I don't have to clean it hardly at all! It's so nice to work with!

Yay!

Now that I look closer, I'm not sure I'll need to clean it at all.
But, @James we gotta fix how quiet you are. hah!
And, now that the mic is further away, we hear more of your office and less of your voice.
I'll see what I can do.

5:08 PM
@AndyD273 @James Episode 7 is so good!

5:28 PM
@Green Great, can't wait to hear the final version!

1 hour later…
6:36 PM
@Green Jeez...I can't win

Afternoon Tres

@TrEs-2b Rytsas!

anything interesting happen recently?

@Mithrandir24601 Ok whats Rytsas?

@James googled it, apparently its Lithuanian for morning
possibly a coincidence though

7:53 PM
@TrEs-2b Interesting.

@James High Valyrian greeting. Are you saying you've missed it when I said that every single time in here? :P

@Mithrandir24601 No it just finally occurred to me to ask.

@James Well, at least you know now :)

Yay I learned something today. Can I start drinking beer now?
2

why not
It's been forever since I've been here, was shocked to see I've topped 30k since my last visit, also finally hit 1 mil people visited, quite proud

7:56 PM
@James Whaaat? You mean that you haven't already started?
@TrEs-2b It's been long enough that I only really know of your existence, but I don't think we've ever actually talked. Or if we have, it was a long time ago now

@Mithrandir24601 Ill be heading that way in about 30 minutes.

@Mithrandir24601 I stopped coming here like a year or two ago, life got in the way and I hit a creative dry spot. Hoping to come back with a fiery vengence
You think 600+ posts was crazy, wait until I go through every question on the site an give answers to ones that interest me.

@TrEs-2b How about just coming back chill and helpful?

@James you can do both, every seen an anti-hero story?
I'm like batman, but less violent and also less helpful

@TrEs-2b Anti-hero's tend to get banned by the system

8:00 PM
technicalities

8:12 PM
@James in all seriousness though, of course I won't just spam garbage posts. If I was only in worldbuilding for the internet points, I could easily just endlessly post Anatomically Correct questions on media monsters like the dozens of halo or worse, all the pokemon. Despite my relatively poor open-close ratio, I do try and put in effort to almost all of my posts.

lol

I love worldbuilding for the crazy questions we get here
Also, hi @TrEs-2b, good luck with all those Pokemon posts - once you are done there will probably be a couple hundred more to use ;)

@Secespitus long time no see
that question is a doozy

8:31 PM
@James It's cool man. I amplified your track. We can hear you just fine.

@Secespitus Only on Worldbuilding :)

That feeling when you're writing an answer and someone else beats you to it, using the exact same sources and answer you did :C
@Green is the podcast still a thing?

@TrEs-2b It sure is. You can be our first listener.

I might check it out if I have time, but I listen to so many already. What ever happened to the Worldbuilding SE podcast?

8:45 PM
The one on YouTube? This is the next evolution of it, now 100% video free *.
* Some video was used in the making of this podcast.

Ah, then I'll definetly check it out

8:58 PM
@Green I listened to the first 4.

Q: To what extent should my personal failure to suspend my disbelief justify a downvote?

JBHI recently posted How to prevent Wikipedia's desire for donations in Bitcoins from enslaving the world. I was surprised that the upvote-vs-downvote ratio is 50%. I've never seen that before. So I posted a comment asking downvoters to help me understand their issues so that I could either modif...

Q: How to fix "Unclear What You're Asking"

Devon MuraokaI recently asked this question, which, granted, isn't a fantastic question, even after my edits. Right after I asked it, I got a -1, and comments that it was unclear, so I edited, cut down unnecessary information, and added an explicit question. Now the question has +10 and multiple voted answer...
