I thought my dragon answer was rather unique and clever, but not much traffic here on the weekend…somebody finally noticed (one upvote), but it appears a lot of folks are jumping in with their bright idea without reading first how many others had the same obvious idea.
@JDługosz Haven't a chance to catch up earlier. Want to thank you for pointing me in the direction of Murray Leinster's "Short History of WWIII". Psionics isn't my favourite SF trope. Read this story years ago. Hard to forget. The title is the best about it. The story itself is almost incoherent. Surprising because Leinster was no dummy. Leinster was obviously playing up to Campbell's psionics fetishism. Leastways I now know the story & its author. Thanks.
