Lol too funny. A pretty french girl ask for a couch on couchsurfing and she gets like 20+ people offering up their couch. A normal looking(not ugly, just plainer looking) girl asks the same and only got 2 replies.
I mean i totally understand how bias people are towards attractiveness but still. It always makes me laugh and feel sick at the same time
@Jay I understand the feeling. If only the world were different!
@J.A.I.L. Hmm why? Because it is incorrect in Spanish, or because you'd not expect a Spanish word outside Spanish?
My friend told me that a Spanish tortilla is a thick pancake of egg and potato, whereas a Latin-American tortilla is a thin, small pancake made of corn flour, as used in tacos.
So I have a midterm today that I have no idea what is going on. It's a 3 hour night class once a week and because of circumstances, I had to miss the last two weeks of class. I am running in circles trying to figure out wth is going on. Ughhhhh
@Cerberus The word tortilla is perfect. And your friend is right: tortilla in Spain means omelette and in Latin-America (at least in Mexico) means that round stuff made with flour (I think wheat can also be used) to wrap tacos.
It sounds strange to me hearing it being called tortilla instead of omelette.
Yes, in Spanish tortilla Española means literally Spanish omelette. It's just I've just discovered it is also called Spanish tortilla in English. It the kind of omelette with potatoes you probably have in mind.
We understand the term *tortilla Española*, and it can be used in a perfectly spoken Spanish. But we actually call it *tortilla de patatas* (or *de papas*). Literally *potato omelette*.
They found a weak spot in the fence and my wife sent me a frazzled email making it clear that this was the last time she was going to be chasing goats.
