@Jolenealaska I've heard that (apart from the police), a lot of the people causing damage are deliberately travelling purely for the purpose of causing damage (see e.g. 'umbrella man) and not to protest, but I don't know how true that is

There are people all over the political spectrum doing bad things for the sake of bad things.

But they are enough of a minority that they aren't nearly as relevant as Trump and his conspirators want the electorate to believe.
