@chivracq if you want you can join me in chat (though it is pretty late for me now). –
Laurel // 4 mins ago //

OK, took a mini-while to manage to log in to this Chat-Site, but here I am.
Also // OK, buggy-buggy, I can't see what I'm typing, ah-ah...!
Good to see you made it
@chivracq I am curious what you have to say about accessibility
Yeah, the Site is super-buggy, sorry, I have to "adapt", ah-ah...! Not a good idea to drag&drop to extend the mini-Chat (4 Lines) Input Field...

But OK, "late for you", also for myself, I was actually going to go to bed when I noticed your Edits in the last 2 Qt's in "my" Tag, and posted some Comment below your Answer...
Yeah I edit a lot
I think last I tried counting it was maybe 7,000 posts across the network lol
Ah OK, Accessibility and Screen Readers..., well, I would need to do quite some "Thinking" to come up with some "Structured" Feedback/Answer, not really "Food for Chat"...
And like I mentioned, that was for me about 10-12 years ago, that I really "dug into it", reading the Article/Link you posted (about that Article from 2016) put me back in time, and I was actually surprised to see that nothing/not much had changed...

@chivracq I've only been working in web development for a little less than 3 years so I don't really know what that was like further back. But even in that little amount of time I've really begun to realize how inaccessible a lot of websites are even now
Yeah well, about Edits, I only watch/monitor "my" Tag (imacros thus), but the overall Qlt is very low, mostly 1-rep Users,
who (nearly) never follow up, never (up)vote, and even less accept Answers, ah-ah...!, + when I try to edit their Qt "a mini bit", sometimes I can't even read their Script as it's just a 1-Liner, oops..., I usually have to wait for 24h-48h before my Edit will get approved, ... and the Thread will already have in the meantime gathered 1 or more Downvotes, => I then know already it will be deleted 30d later, bit of a vicious circle... Message is too long, ah-ah...!
(Posted in 2 chunks, ah-ah...!)
@NVZ sounds like it's phrased looked for the general English rule, not specifically about (re)writing a sentence
"But even in that little amount of time I've really begun to realize how inaccessible a lot of websites are even now"
=> Yep, I'm not surprised, and I think, it's getting "worse" since 5y => since 3y => since 1y, yep really since 1y, and I think the "Trend" (hum..., "Trend" / "Trending", I've seen that Term recently "somewhere, ah-ah...!), trying to force Websites to adopt/respect some "conventions" will never work, the 'Accessibility Helpers' Software(s) should get smarter and more clever, is my Opinion...
@chivracq The suggested edits queue is really a mess on SO. It's been almost at max for months (maybe longer)? I try to review but it has no visible effect on the queue
@chivracq hi there, I'm a mod on Sci-Fi (link to the site: Science Fiction & Fantasy) but I also do web development. Super interested in this topic as well. I do think you need a human in the loop to make sure the software doesn't mess up somewhere

Yeah well, at least you don't get any (Suggested) Edits from me, ah-ah..., since I don't know, several months, 1 year maybe..., I got tired of "waiting" for more than 24h sometimes, for salvageable Qt's, but by the time my Edit had been approved, they had already gathered 1 or more Downvotes, very often simply because Code/Script was posted as 1 Line without any Formatting, because most New Users can't even find out that 2x Spaces are needed for a Hard Return etc...
There are automated tools that try to fix accessibility problems but I've heard bad things about them. They seem to lull people into a false sense of security. There's a lot of problems you can't fix automatically, like alt text and having proper keyboard navigation
@chivracq you can try leaving a comment telling the user how to format. I do agree that it's hard to work with low rep users sometimes though
Yep-yep, this is "now" what I do usually, but pfff..., most Users don't follow up, at least in "my" Tag..., sometimes i think, "full of Hope", ah-ah...!, OK, this one is "better", alright, I'll post the Solution "as an Answer", but still..., most often to no avail..., lie you saw maybe in the 2 Qt's you edited, they were from the same User...
I'm actually the Mod and kind of "Tech Guru" on the Forum of the Tag/Prog Lang, on the Company Site...:
https://forum.imacros.net/search.php?author_id=23592&sr=posts&
=>10k(+) Posts / 2k Solutions
And there I have "Full Powers" on that Forum, and I can "force" Users to put some Quality in their Posts (or they don't get any Help, ah-ah...!), but on SO with "only" 0.5k-Rep, I can't do much... (And I only get about [50-70]-Rep per year, ah-ah...!)
And yep about "Automated Tools", this is a bit "my Specialty", the Tag I support is about Web-Automation, and I'm really "pretty Advanced" in Techniques, and what is technically "maybe possible", well "maybe possible" = "I always find a way to implement whatever", most Techniques I've posted on that Forum all came from me doing "a bit of Thinking", ah-ah...!
... OK, going to bed... (Oh, and I had deleted my Comment as soon as I had seen your Comment/Post with a Link to this Chat Site...)

@chivracq Wow, you've been a member of SO for a pretty long time. I suspect that it's just really hard to get rep in small tags. (Though even in bigger tags I found it very tedious to get rep.)
@chivracq Night, you know where to find me at least now
