Q: Based on where I put a comma in a long sentence, can it confuse the readers from the way its supposed to be read?

MariatheartistOne bad habit I have when writing sentences is that I make them too long and have to use commas. Problem: I get confused on where to put them to maintain the smooth structured balance of the sentence. What I want the readers to see may change if the sentence is read differently. Question:If comm...

Q: The Importance of Being Earnest

user117852I have a few questions I need help with regarding the book "The Importance of Being Earnest". How is Algernon presented and how is the reader encouraged to respond to him? How is Jack's conflict with romance conveyed (eg. Lady Bracknell holds his uncertain origin against him). What understandin...

Q: Naming a book in a language different from where it would be published: it is good, bad or it depends?

Bruno LopesThe book is being written in Portuguese, would it be bad if the name is in English? The name is just "The Awakening". I prefer the title in English because it sounds better than in Portuguese ("O Despertar"), which sounds a bit like a generic fiction. But would it be good? Because "awakening" i...

Q: Sequence of Events

curiousbrainWhile writing in first person's pov, is it always necessary to describe each and every event sequentially? I mean, is it wrong to skip events to a later time and then describe the previous events? Thanks.

Q: Is it strange to describe the narrator's facial expressions in a first-person narrative?

Alexandro ChenExamples: “Really?” I said, widening my eyes. "What?" My eyes lifted and I raised my brows in shock. I think this reads strange because the narrator can't see his or her own face (or wasn't able back then). So I tend to write this instead: I was taken aback. “Really?” "What?...

is it not possible to redirect from subdomain.site.com/page.html to www.site.com/page?
it should be possible, one way or another. I'm not sure if JS would allow it, but headers should
then why is the team saying these links will break? that sounds like bull to me
depends on how they implement the redirect, I guess. if the links on the resulting page point to the wrong place, then they will be broken. but 302s should deal with that, somehow, with webserver magic

you should be able to do that with a simple HTML tag
Oh yeah, like @MattE.Эллен just said.
the boss said that it was specifically that they ended in .html that was the problem.
because it is from a static page to a web app?
I guess.
