How I wish deterministic results weren't so hard to achieve. All these implicit (read sneaky) inputs make setting things up tedious.

@IvenBach What do you mean ?

Organize imports

Well can't say more than that
Fix bug with hero creation in database not having default value

Added the database constraint about the vaule not defaulting at 0

My faith in humanity was restored a little bit the other day, when I realized my Machoke needed to be traded to evolve further...
So I went online in the wilderness and looked for someone to trade with. And since you can't chat with other trainers (at least to my knowledge), I basically had to trust the complete stranger I was going to trade with to return the evolved Machamp to me afterwards.
Found someone, who offered a level 1 common Pokemon for my lv 40 Machoke, traded it to them... and after the longest minute of all time, I get a trade back request from them with the newly evolved Pokemon :D

@Phrancis Oh man that's scary
I got a friend that have Shield too if you need trade with more reliable people
Won't have access to the Sword pokedex but at least that would be more "safe"

Yeah I found a guy on my team at work who also plays, but always happy to play if your friend wants to, just give them my friend code: SW-0358-9447-2599

@Marc-Andre Workbook I'm automating. It has 60+ worksheets. Inputs on several of them makes it hard to ensure all are supplied correctly.
Found an implicit relationship that contradicts some previous thing I was told I could assume.

2:11 AM
Whoever told you that apparently didn't realize that assuming can make an Ass of U and Me.
(even though it's a lame play on words, I still think it often rings true)

@Phrancis Wow taht was great

@Marc-Andre I take no credit, I first heard it from a dad (not mine) #DadJokes

It's all structural engineering calculations on the worksheet. I can only produce outputs from inputs I give it. NFI how to interpret the results.

ahahah yeah it's a really funny one

I've found many assumptions were incorrect by putting in inputs that a structural engineer never would have tried. :+1: for #BlindPigTesting on my part.
@Phrancis I no longer trust anything until I've demonstably proven it incorrect with invalid inputs, thereafter shown to be correct with valid inputs. #RedGreenUnFucked
Lamentably I can't test things individually. IE a unit test.
As they are worksheet/workbook formulas they are all tied together.

2:18 AM
@IvenBach People's assumption are the worst thing in the world. Be preprared that programation won't save you from that

I already know that.

I knew but didn't want to make the assumption that you did :P
(see what I did here :P)

Iven: We're getting failing results now. :exlpain-what-I-know:
Boss: Why are they failing? They weren't before.
Iven: Requests are continually being added invalidating previous assumptions.
Boss: How long will it take to fix?
Iven: How many more requests do I need to add?
After mucking around to find the root cause it's been 2 weeks since I started.
I can't in good conscience not report the discrepancies I find. The calculations should be deterministic and I'll keep at it until they are.
I've far exceeded my venting limit. Time for homework.

2:47 AM
@IvenBach That sounds like a tangled spaghetti mess
PSA: Spaghetti should only be used to feed humans, and never computers.
@IvenBach One of a number of things I prefer from a database over a spreadsheet is you can have your own, admin protected stored procedures and TVFs that the average user can't just go and f*ck around with and mess up calculations
So that way if it's wrong I only have myself to blame

3:40 AM
Yeah.... It sure would be nice to have something like that. Lamentably this workbook has to be self containing for #Reasons.

4:06 AM
@Phrancis Alt+Backspace is also an undo command, IE Ctrl+Z equivalent. Hotkey 4 teh win.

10 hours later…
2:34 PM
Hey everyone have a nice day :)
@AGirlHasNoName I'm gonna have a commit for duga today. It's been a while

2 hours later…
4:54 PM
hey

THEORY - Rx (Medicate) is auditorily appealing.

5:27 PM
Monking!

5:39 PM
Hm. The Pineapple of the United States is in big doo-doo. Key witness in Ukraine bribery hearings apparently was out of f*cks to give and just revealed the whole conspiracy, on national TV...
Needless to say, fun times on Twitter (not sarcastic this time)

@Phrancis How can politics be political?

@IvenBach Huh?

@Phrancis You heard the Pineapple in Chief describe it as the perfect shakedown phone call. How could this have turned into a political clusterfest?

@IvenBach I suppose it wasn't so perfect after all X)

Anyone in politics should realize there'll be people out to get them.

6:00 PM
In other recent findings, someone got creative and made a Chrome extension called Make Trump Tweets Eight Again X)

Not surprising someone would do that.

It's beautiful though isn't it?

6:31 PM
@Phrancis I'm surprised it took that long to pinned him on something
Honestly I just hoped that he's barred from presenting himself for President for the next election. Because if he can present himself he will be elected

@Marc-Andre He seems to always be able to barely skate by on technicalities. I think he will skate by again, because his own party will almost certainly not convict him after all this is investigated and impeached.
@Marc-Andre I strongly doubt he will get re-elected if he runs again. Basically every election since fateful 2016 when he came into office, has seen his party and candidates take significant losses.

@Phrancis I have no trust and no hope, so I'll doubt until I see the final result.

6:46 PM
@Phrancis Lawyering up is successful tactic. Sad state of affairs when it's obvious someone is corrupt yet politics keeps Pineapples backing the offending Pineapple. Hence my previous comment.

@Phrancis Things like this should be more important than a party. But anyway, I must say that in 2008 I was in awe of the USA but in 2016 all the illusion came down crashing. I realised a lot of things since then and I thank whatever reason I was born in Canada.

I'm thankful for privileges I have for living in the USA but lament its lack of character and integrity.

7:04 PM
@Marc-Andre I don't fault you for being cynical about it, I am as well though somewhat encouraged by seeing that many people are finally realizing their role in electing politicians is important

@Phrancis The thing is, are you sure this is not the "bubble" created by what you are seeing of Twitter?

7:54 PM
@Marc-Andre I'm careful of that bias. My hope is based on actual election results since after Trump was elected. In 2018, the Republicans lost many House seats, and lost the majority there. Then just recently, they got slammed in at least 3 state elections, including Kentucky where I live.
I'm probably forgetting some others too

8:35 PM
Look at the witness' grin in that picture. I wonder what's going through his head... twitter.com/HoarseWisperer/status/1197228935953735685

@Phrancis Twitter on mobile Firefox is garbage

@Marc-Andre To be fair, it's garbage on Chromium-based mobile browsers too.

9:15 PM
Just had another one of those (in)famous "I just have a quick question" phone calls lol.
Turns out that she was accessing Outlook via web access on a hospital business computer (instead of using the desktop Outlook app), and wondering why it wouldn't open links to internal file share server locations from there...

9:36 PM
@Feeds Wut

@skiwi Apparently, Randall Munroe felt like making puns around The Land Before Time animated movie from 1988. Ever seen it?

Don't think so
or I'm too tired for anything

I recall I liked it a lot as a child, don't know if it aged well

ah

10:08 PM
@Phrancis hello!

@FreezePhoenix bonjour!

@Phrancis Superb movie. Loved it as a child.
It still is a good movie as an adult.

10:37 PM
@IvenBach I recall it being rather dark in mood, though inspiring and hopeful ultimately... never seen it in the original English language, may have to rectify that

I enjoy dark themes.

10:49 PM
Donnie Darko, the dark knight, dark ages, darkness falls, etc

11:47 PM
Seems like I've been getting Active Directory account lockout calls all freaking day long today
Not sure if coincidence or something is going on

@SimonForsberg Before the end of these imPineapplement proceedings are over you'll have had a full display of the American political circus.
