Q: An object's texture can have one layer, but many objects share same layer. Is this interface implemented correctly?

Jh62I have the following enum: public enum PartLayer implements IPartID // Tells the order in which the renderer draws the textures associated with each value. { BODY, // renders first MASK, // renders second WHEEL, // renders third TIRE, // renders fourth BODY_PART; // renders a...

@bruglesco Sometimes it feels like Entity-Component-System is all I do these days...
self-note: One message with multiple Update information, for both game and for single entity

hey all

[bruglesco/FleetCommand] bruglesco pushed commit bee484a6 to master: Added SonarQube CI/CD Analysis
[bruglesco/FleetCommand] bruglesco pushed commit 3cea43f7 to master: Finished integrating SonarQube

Always happy to see that sites communicate asynchronously with their backend when trying to scrape some data :)

4:59 PM
cleaned up code smells from SonarQube analysis.
Mostly added explicit keyword to constructors.

@Duga Yay for SonarQube!

@bruglesco any reason ?

@Marc-Andre Integrating SonarQube was a pain. It runs on the CL and uses Visual Studios underlying compiler but because I was using said compiler from the command line instead of from VS itself it was building the project on the wrong platform which lead to many many errors before I was able to track down the root problem

@Duga Yay for SonarQube!

Too bad SonarQube doesn't support Kotlin though... any progress on that @janos ?
By the way @janos, are you still interested in this?

Superping :o

5:05 PM
@skiwi A superping a day keeps.... janos in chat!

haha

Nice that you got it working :)

So after all that I don't believe that SQ will do an automated build which is I believe the reason @Marc-Andre suggested I adopt a CI/CD
no?

Well SQ should be a step on your CI. Like you push your commit, its get analyzed by SQ and then warns you if it broke something.

that ^^
SQ is not the thing doing your build though.

5:12 PM
that's fair

5:23 PM
Monking!
@SimonForsberg I hate when simple words get mangled by swapping letters. Here at work we have a reporting system called QlikView, everytime I get a call about it I struggle to remember how it's spelled
ClickView would have been just as good and much easier to spell

@Phrancis Huh, we have QlikView at work as well. I have never used it though. I think it's something we just gather statistics in
@Phrancis I'm gonna name my next game "QlikNWin"

QlikCwik&Nguyen
Next I need to add testing so I can raise that code coverage statistic on all of my repos.
And Yes it is the statistic that matters. Having bug-free code is just a pleasant side effect

[Zomis/Server2] Zomis pushed commit c4ebcced to feature/entity-component-system: Add expectation and logic for UTTT-ECS won boards
[Zomis/Server2] Zomis pushed commit cf2efef4 to feature/entity-component-system: UTTT-ECS: Add elimination of players and end of game

Test-driven development is really not that bad. One very good positive thing about it is that whenever you wonder what you were working on or what to fix next, you just run the tests and instantly you have something to work on.

Only negative thing is.... what do you do when all tests pass? ^^

@SimonForsberg add new features

@bruglesco Or more tests?
Or refactor the mess I already have?

6:50 PM
I think you just described the SDLC
(I'll have to remember to keep it that succinct if Im ever asked in an interview)

7:14 PM
[Zomis/Server2] Zomis pushed commit 3cafed8b to feature/entity-component-system: ECS: Send error message on IllegalMove

@bruglesco SDLC?

/meme label all the things

Speaking of memes...
A coworker made this one ^^ (I just translated it to English)

hahahahaha

7:40 PM
@SimonForsberg I would guess this depends on your current tasks or what you had planned :)

@Marc-Andre I have plenty of things planned. I might work a bit on the frontend next to make sure that it can handle the new UTTT-ECS game
Then I might refactor the core-server so that it also uses more of an ECS approach
Then I might try to loosen the coupling between the server and Jackson, to make it possible to do more stuff also in frontend (pretty much, simulate a server locally)

All interesting things :)

7:56 PM
I am slightly afraid that it will be too confusing if I make everything in the core-server an Entity and all the things Components
although it is probably quite confusing already

@SimonForsberg If at first you don't succeed, give up and quit trying.

Yay, the entire hospital network is experiencing performance issues. #OutageParty

9:27 PM
Service Level stats went from 97% to 53% in like an hour lol.

10:27 PM
Fun day on Twitter...
At least the outage was fixed fairly quickly. There were issues with the proxy server(s) apparently. Reboot appears to have fixed the issue (imagine that).
