Election in Germany today. I will admit, I am worried a bit.

Same here, everything is rather worrisome these days though XD fingers crossed it works out somewhat.
Those mussels look good! I should try some, someday. Never had any before
@rumtscho You call that early? ;) I fell asleep on the couch shortly after my last message in here yesterday XD. Woke up at around 3AM with a sore neck and tension headache :/

@Tinkeringbell funny - most of the mussels in sale here are from Holland. So you are closer to the source than I am. And yes, you should try them. Just follow the basic rules (don’t cook those that don’t close and don’t eat those that don’t open), and for the love of all culinary gods, don’t overcook them.

@Stephie Hahaha true, mussels have gained some popularity here over the past few years. Thing is, they're not exactly sold in single person serving sizes here in supermarkets (and the local fishmonger is waaaaay too expensive), so if I were to try some it would probably be in a restaurant or something first. And I'm always a bit hesitant to place an order for something like that, because what if I don't like it? That's such a waste too...
So I'm kinda just biding my time until I go out to eat with someone that orders mussels :P

What’s the package size? A kilo? Because that’s the average here I would recommend half a kilo per person for a decent sized meal anyway, so not a super expensive experiment. And at the fishmonger’s, if they sell loose mussels, you could start with maybe half a pound or so?
But the “steal from someone else’s plate” seems a good tactic, too.
@Stephie not steal! Probably will be a trade ;) or a gift:D
16:25
I’d let you have some from my plate. Always happy to share the joy.
@Tinkeringbell most couches do that :D
17:33
@JourneymanGeek Hah! I've slept on some great couches, but it doesn't work if you fall asleep while still sort of sitting up :P
@Stephie Most people I hang out with are like that :) always willing to trade, as that means you get to taste more dishes. There are even restaurants over here built entirely on that concept.
