A: Upgrade operations from Jammy to Noble broke whole of OS

eyoung100How To Upgrade Major Versions There are plenty of tutorials on Google using the search term Upgrade from Jammy to Noble. All of them contain a summary of the following steps in the following order (All these should be preceded with sudo, or use sudo -i): apt update apt upgrade <== This ensures 2...

please what should i do with these conflicts ?? (It's too late to use release-upgrade tool :( )
Even though full upgrade is reporting a conflict do the conflicting packages appear later in the upgrade dependency graph? i.e., are the packages removed and reinstalled later? What happens when you try do-release-upgrade?
it throws the error Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading.
So step 2 in the list above? and issuing that sticks you in the broken loop described in your Post? BTW I can't read your pastebin: Its behind a login, which isn't recommended here.
yeah step 2 worked fine for almost 4000 packages :D what should i do next ?? (i mean the conflicts ?? after upgrading those 4000 packages)

Update your Post with the conflicts/new info unless that usrmerge issue is all that remains?
@Zorono So after the edit, am I to assume that the 75 remaining packages belong as a conflict with usrmerge, or can you add the list?
Excuse me sir, but I have to wait till end of the process of apt upgrade to attach accurate info (i am sorry for this)
OK, I'll wait. The upgrade you're doing now may obsolete some of the 75 in the list, then we just work with what's left. I can move this to a discussion if you prefer.
yeah, sure it is preferred as far as I know about the rules of StackExchange (i think)
@Zonoro Let me know when the apt upgrade finishes. I'm waiting in the Chat Room linked to the question.
sure sir,
it is a bit slow... i will send you a message soon sir

It's fine. This is a big upgrade
A couple things to remember: If APT reports Package X as broken WHILE determining an update, is Package X Broken or installed when the update starts?

I'm posting this here, so I don't lose it: linuxconfig.org/…

i am sorry for being so late... it is around 70% (configuring packages...)
Like I said it's ok. This is a big upgrade, since you skipped 23.10 which is fine... I'm about to head home but I'll reload the chat when I get there.
