@terdon the user amWhy, repeatedly is treating me with disdain out of some kind of grudge or prejudice towards me. I don't think that kind of behavior is okay.
@Jakobian I'm sorry but without context, there is nothing I can do. If someone is being unpleasant to you in chat, please flag their messages so we can act on them.
@terdon That's a problem, the messages are always delivered in a passive aggressive tone, often indirectly. It's still a nuisance though, but I understand that my story is one-sided. There were other users who received similar treatment though (not going to mention them since I'm not sure if they want to be mentioned). The user seems to be particularly hang-up on me though
But never mind that, I think the chatroom that Sine has linked to is definitely something that a moderator should look into. Not only the chat description but also owner's profile, and messages of certain users there
@Jakobian o can't help now, I'm sorry. I'm on mobile and traveling with my family for the holidays. Please raise a moderator flag so someone else can deal with it.
@Jakobian You are not the only one having this problem with this user. As far as I know, this user has been suspended from the chat over 100 times already. I don't understand why don't they make it permanent since the temporary suspensions clearly are not working.
@SineoftheTime yeah sure, but as far as I know you raise flags in serious situations, while things like these go under the radar, no one will really act upon it otherwise. It would be nice for a moderator to state their opinion and perhaps reprimand someone who engages in those types of behaviours
I agree and I think your removed messages were fine. That said, no Math.SE is pingable in this room, so to draw attention to this situation you can only raise a flag. Since calling out users in public is frowned upon, I don't see another solution.
I usually ask in the Math mod's office or ask for a private chat with Xander
