Q: How can I troubleshoot and fix an SSH “connection corrupted” issue on a work managed Mac after upgrade to macOS Sequoia?

tinkDoes anyone have a fix or troubleshooting advice for ssh instability on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1? On Monday my work laptop got updated to Sequoia and my previously stable ssh connection is now very unstable. In addition, I experience several new annoyances: Dock stuck to primary monitor. Dock doesn'...

Firewall seems unlikely to drop an established connection. If you couldn’t connect, maybe…. What corporate software is involved and how flat is the network between the server and client?
I can hit /usr via Command-Shift-g without issue.
@bmike - good question; our Macs get maintained remotely by a service provider via intune. I know they have MS Defender running, which will be watching/intercepting network traffic. We also have Huntress installed. But everything was working fine before the update.
@Giacomo1968 "Splat" is a colloquialism for the "Command" key.
I always thought it was a colloquialism for the asterisk.
Ok. I am going to edit this a bit, you say another (different) ssh issue but there’s no link to the first issue.

@MarcWilson - could well be the sociolect of my employer/colleagues; I was told Command = Splat when I was handed my Mac, have been calling it that for 10+ years now =} The asterisk is called aster around here.
Fair enough @bmike - there was only one other post with ssh and sequoia, but that dude's problems only had to do w/ name resolution and nothing with ssh.

Hi @AndyGriffiths

Hi @bmike. Yes, a similar question?

Oh ignore me, the same one. I had not noticed the comments that you siphoned off!
Yes, I forgot to lock the post when I moved the discussion here so the comments are “forked…”
It’s odd TechnCrunch is making like macOS 15.0.1 fixes this, but @Tink reported it was equally unstable.
I love a snappy browser, too.
Seems DNS lookups also had a lot of smoke about them being delayed or timing out for enterprise customers.

@bmike - I never had 15.0 - went straight from 14.7.2 (I think) to 15.01 ... before we forced to switch from JAMF to intune (fiscal reasons, we're a poor not-for-profit) we had a hold on major release upgrades till they hit a x.2 =} ... intune apparently still has teething problems

Thanks for your flexibility here @tink even if basically no one sees a problem on the consumer side, it’s still a problem
and you wading right onto the 15.0.1 is normally a safe time to migrate, not this one sadly
JAMF is a mile from where I live and yes, they are more for-profit now and “costly for Cadillac” service and support.

@bmike I suspect that a lot of journos have taken "- Improves compatibility with third-party security software" at face value, and assumed "that fixes it then...".
