Q: What school of magic would the upper class want their children to learn quickly?

BabiBabaThe world In an Earth-like fantasy world at the start of its Industrial Revolution (with newly invented magitek instead of Steam engines), anyone can learn magic. Its study is time-consuming and exhausting, so few can actually dedicate themselves to it. The initial years are particularly tedious ...

English isn't my first language, please tell if any part of this question is unclear or poorly worded :)
What are the schools of magic? What is the technological level? What is the social background? The "best" option for a person in a Bronze Age society constantly at war and a person in a politically stable modern democracy will not be the same. For example, instantaneous communication spells would be extremely valuable at or before the start of the 19th Century, useful but much less valuable at the start of the 20th Century and not worth the effort for someone with access to internet/radio/telephone etc today.
@KerrAvon2055 I added some infos to the question. The list of magic schools isn't truly done yet. I'm going to adapt it to the needs of the story. Also, as of today I have listed more than 20 schools, so it would be a little long to detail them all in the (already quite long) question. Do you think the added context is enough ?

VTC:Too Story-Based, but I could also have chosen VTC:Not About Worldbuilding per the help center or VTC:Opinion-Based (look at the wide variety of your answers to see the problem). Questions about the choices of individuals or organizations are specifically prohibited in the help center. Questions that are open-ended or that lead to all answers having equal value are also prohibited the help center.
@JBH Hi! Do you think there is a way I could improve the question? Should I add more details about he world or its history? Or would it be pointless?

My impression is that 1) this rules as a story idea 2) it feels like an opportunity to have multiple answers and have that say something about the society or the story you want to tell. E.g. old money aristocracy might think some schools of magic are important, new money magitech barons likely feel that there's something else more important, etc.

There's no way to make this question meet the rules. Per the help center, "When asking questions keep in mind that the goal of this site is to help you build your world, not to tell your story." That same page also says, "if ... you aren't sure what a character (be it an individual or organization) should do, that is out of scope for the site." Whenever you're asking about character/creature/organization choices, motivations, or actions, you're off-topic.
@JBH I removed the mention of a specific character, and the school she went to, now its clear I'm asking about what High Society as a whole wouls want. Is it still too specific?

It's still invalid. Remember the help center says "individual or organization." That includes "society," "rich people," and every other organization of characters.
@JBH Ok, I'll delete the question in a moment, after I copy and save its answers and comments in an usable format for later
@BabikaBabaka I'd suggest not deleting the question. It will be "closed", meaning nobody can write new answers for it, but it's still valuable (indicated by the upvotes and discussion it's generated).

@Kaia Babika can't. As soon as someone answers SE won't allow the question to be deleted without first closing it or asking the Mods to do it. And the fact that popularity never absolves the rules has been chanted by SE and its Stacks over and over for years and years.
@BabikaBabaka Please understand, you've not asked a bad question, you've only asked one that Stack Exchange doesn't want asked here. Open-ended questions are permitted on other services. check out our List of Worldbuilding Resources where you'll see some of those options near the bottom of the list.
@JBH I thought the requirement was "as soon as an answer has 2+ upvotes" or something, but yeah.
@JBH Thanks for the link, I'll check out Reddit and the Discord
This question was closed for more than just Details... there was Too Story Based and Opinion-Based in there too... but as soon as I add my vote, whatever I voted for becomes the sole reason.
I think this could be quickly reopened if you edited out the references to "what certain people would choose" (this is what makes your question fundamentally story based, because it comes down to what your characters are choosing); and focused in stead on "what school might be more beneficial for an upper class person in this culture".
@elemtilas I don't think that it would depend on small nuances like this. That looks more like hairsplitting. The essence of the question is very clear and very on-topic.

@GraySheep I don't think that is 1. kind or 2. correct, but I think you're welcome to start a Meta question about "how come this question is closed"
@GraySheep There used to be a big part of the question that focused on specific characters of the story. And to be fair, seeing the answers it seems that it may be too open ended
