Q: As a British citizen, I get stopped for 40 minutes wait due to wrong record of refusal to entry

G OI came to the UK under a Tier 2 visa about 10 years ago. After the 5th year, I obtained my Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and a year later, I became a citizen. Since I started using my UK passport, I have randomly experienced issues at the border as the border force officers see some sort of re...

This is really annoying, I feel for you. Maybe you find some info here that helps: travel.stackexchange.com/a/89879/138206 travel.stackexchange.com/questions/96671/…
Maybe you can file a complaint claiming racial discrimination. If it happens to you but no one else, there has to be a reason for it. Quite likely it has nothing to do with race, but if you declare yourself to be in a protected class, they are less likely to ignore the complain. racial discrimination is at least plausible and the burden to proof that it's not is on them and they may share the real reason which you then can try to address. As it stands, you don't know for sure if there is a record and what it says.
@Hilmar Racial discrimination by an e-Gate?
Do you always use the e-Gate first? Does it block as son as it reads the passport, or only after biometric identification? Do you have issues with e-Gates (or manual inspection) in other countries? When you provide API info, do you correctly provide your UK passport details (and not the Turkish one)? Have you filed a freedom of information (FOI) request?
@jcaron an e-gate could refuse to process someone who is on a certain list, and the person's inclusion on the list could be the product of racism.

When it happened for the first time I was actually super worried this was racial discrimination as I don't look super British and the officer who did this wasn't super kind or collaborative. 2nd time it happened this time the officer was 2nd / 3rd generation immigrant I guess and he shared some of the details I mentioned here. With e-gate it actually takes some time for it to say "seek assistance".
Yes, I always provide the UK passport info as the Turkish passport in question is already expired one. I can't fly anywhere with it.
I think I will try to use FOI information request, hoping it can provide some light into this issue.

There is a new government - do you have a new MP and assisting team that might now better service your request for assistance - they might not feel as culpable as your previously branded MP and act seriously to build their 'good and forceful will' with the bureaucracy.
@Hilmar I don't think complaining about racial discrimination in bad faith is good advice, such complains make it more difficult for genuine discrimination cases to get proper attention.
@DmitryGrigoryev I am not sure why it would be bad faith. Hilmar says "Quite likely it has nothing to do with race", but I don't see any reason to conclude this any more than for anyone else. In other words, merely that racism is unlikely on average does not mean that racism is unlikely in this case, relative to other cases. I actually think it a plausible explanation, even though alternative explanations are possible.
I would suggest writing a letter with all the facts you have laid out here - and printing it, and presenting it alongside your passport. That way, the Border Force Officer can understand your background, and it will prime them for any enquiries they seek to make. The goal is to make it faster - and eventually for them to note their own system that whoever they are looking for, it is not you.
Too bad the UK is not in the EU any longer which would have given you rights to see your data held by the government...
What is your question exactly?

@civitas good call on the new government. Even if it's the same MP, the Home Office is likely to be more forthcoming in response to the MP's inquiries.
@Peter-ReinstateMonica as far as I'm aware, UK data protection law is still substantially similar to the GDPR.

I think if I find a lawyer friend to confirm my identity, I could request all the data border force has but I'm not really sure if it would definitely include everything.
Not racial discrimination, but ethnical discrimination, which is just as bad.
