@JoshuaB "one of the best verses"? You're asking for a single, little verse? Really!? There were at least 3 Councils that worked on it, over a couple hundred years, though those had more to do with constructing a definition of the undefinable. Define God!. And, I don't think it's noteworthy to suggest that your mind is a bit made up. Surely you'll admit that's true. Asking for one verse to clear that hurdle preconditions any effort to assuredly fail. Do that in a chat!! What, 500 chars?
@JoshuaB I'll suggest 1 Cor. 8:4-6, Any Jew, and any who knew the very common Jewish custom, would have recognized the Shema in this text: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord is one." The startling thing, to one reading 8:4-6, is Paul modifies the Shema, inserting text that clearly links God the Father with the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul emphasizes the oneness of God, and yet, using the linkage between 'Lord' and 'God' that the sacred Shema uses, he refers to the Lord Jesus Christ.

@MikeSangrey Mike, 1Cor. 8:6 is anything but supporting a Trinity! Paul is telling us that there is only ONE GOD, the Father alone, and ONE LORD who is underneath Him, the Son Jesus Christ. How do you pull that Jesus is God out of this?!

JoshuaB First, you have to read what I said. And by that I mean, actually read it. Don't just funnel the words through your presuppositional eyes. In order to understand Paul, you have to get into the Jewish head. The Shama jumps off the page. Loudly. Eg: Dropping the subordinate clauses, we have: ...εἷς θεὸς...καὶ εἷς κύριος Ἰησοῦς Χριστός. One God and one Lord, Jesus Christ.
