@bobflux, going to start with the pcb layout now. Basically, what I need to do is put the sense resistor(which is the one that is connected to the transistors?), diodes and mosfets as close together as possible?

I am having difficulty trying to get the layout right. This may be a big ask, so feel free to decline, but is it possible, if you could draw up a quick sketch of where the placements should be for all the important components and then I will deal with the menial ones. The pcb intended dimensions is 100*35mm

OK I see it. I will create the PCB, 100x35mm. Four layers (it's on special on JLCPCB and it saves a lot of time). So, mechanical stuff goes first. You need mounting holed? Where do you want the connectors?
Your battery connector is vertical, are you sure? If you want low height you could use a right angle connector

I'd prefer the connectors on either end, so at 0 and 100mm. Height is not an issue, I think vertical connection will be better. I would prefer mounting holed at each corner, but two diagonal holes would work too. Thank you so much for this as well, you are such a great help! :)
@bobflux After thinking through the construction of the project, I have changed my mind on the connectors, I think a right angle is probably better.
