I have an odd problem. It seems I'm slightly addicted to Ramen noodle soup. I've had it probably three or four nights out of the past week, strictly because I was craving it - not for an actual meal.

Good god man
@RoryAlsop It's less a factor of marketing, and more one of creating thesis titles.
I have two cats going crazy over a laser pointer.
They'll only play with it one at a time, out of respect for the other I presume.
I am, however, attempting to get one to pounce on the other by strategically placing the light. I think I might get there.
Any of you guys know exactly which question he's referring to here?

Q: How shall we deal with direct insults?

nhnbI am concerned that this site may go the same way the de.comp.security.* group on Usenet went. They started pretty good, but over time ended up with more than 30% of the postings containing insults about how incompetent the previous poster was, suggesting that he or she should stay far away from ...

I do appreciate his concern, but I would like to see the full context and thread.
@ScottPack Indeed. Perhaps that's worth posting a comment on?

Q: Should I bother teaching buffer overflows any more?

FixeeThe students are skeptical that turning off non-executable stacks, turning off canaries and turning off ASLR represents a realistic environment. If PaX, DEP, W^X, etc., are effective at stopping buffer overflow exploits, is there still value in learning about them?

First comment on that thread.

Yeah, I just came across it as well.

Just followed one of the website's ads to Synergy - looks so cool, I wish I had a use for it!

Okay, I really don't like this thread being called an "open discussion":

Q: How should passwords be stored if they must be recoverable?

RookBy "encrypting" passwords you are violating CWE-257: Storing Passwords in a Recoverable Format. But this is exactly what the French government wants. They want to be able to obtain the passwords of any user. So how can you satisfy this French mandate as well as maintaining a high level of secu...

@Iszi I use synergy at the office.
I used linux as my primary desktop system, but since we're an Exchange shop I set up a Windows box for that kind of stuff.
A few caveats:
1) Clipboard -- Linux->Windows works great. Windows->Linux doesn't.
2) Attempting to unlock the screen or login to the Windows box is interesting due to input handling (I had to setup a kvm and left out the v)
Also, if you don't like the question. Throw in a close vote
Your name only shows up if it actually gets closed :)
Not worried about that at all.
THe question has some potential, which is why I commented.
Speaking of which, it's past my bedtime.
Dunno what your bedtime has to do with the current discussion, but okay.

Not so much related to the current discussion, but a rather hamfisted attempt at a segue.
