Q: Will IBM's Condor quantum processor run Shor's Algorithm to crack a 256-bit Elliptic Curve key?

Simon G.Yesterday IBM announced that they have a 433 bit quantum computer, called Osprey. There is nothing in the press releases I can find that says whether it can or cannot run Shor's Algorithm. They also say they are on track to release "Condor", an 1121 bit processor next year. Shor's algorithm, as f...

That's pretty interesting
I'm highly skeptical (regarding the NIST estimate).

Opinion: If all programmers were forced to use Rust only, insecure software would almost entirely disappear ...because all the lousy programmers would never get their programs to compile
(That [cough] includes me)
I doubt... Java was supposed to be more secure than C, but even a highly skilled Java programmer will create a program that is vulnerable because the VM have a bug
the more layers you have, the less control you have over the result
NSA recommends going to Java too. And even with memory safety, log2shell happened
