How reputable is Hackers for Charity? Their concept seems interesting and I would love to contribute some of my time towards it.
@TerryChia They seem to have a good range of well known names involved - don't know how much you can rely on that, but is gives some confidence
@RoryAlsop Aye, the website doesn't have any recent updates, which is weird, but it does seem sound in general. I'll see what other info I can dig up once I have the time.

@TerryChia I agree with @RoryAlsop. I certainly recognize a few names on their rolls.

Shouldn't this be closed as product recommendation?

Q: What is a good email site that doesn't mine your personal data?

MaxFI am becoming less and less ok with Google and Facebook collecting data on me based on my online activities and then selling that to companies. Is there a good email service out there that respects privacy and doesn't mine data about you?

@RoryAlsop Looks like it's already gotten a close vote ahead of mine.

That would be mine.
@Iszi You could be right. Additionally, they may be time localised - these providers may not be the same in a year's time
After you posted it I took a gander.
We should totally get this in our feed.
And try to get some sort of one-boxiness.

TrueCrypt usage question: Here or SU? I'm leaning towards SU for "Can I create a consolidated TrueCrypt Rescue Disk that will work for multiple systems?"
I'd say SU. The task of using TrueCrypt itself isn't exactly a security question.
Which was why i flagged this actually.

Q: Repairing corrupt TrueCrypt volumes/disks?

Huskehn(I'm asking this for a friend of mine as I'm trying to help him with this problem over remote desktop, so if any details are needed, just ask and I will get them). Two entire hard disks were encrypted with TrueCrypt, and then decrypted with a recovery CD created on a different computer, but with ...

Q: One Rescue Disk to rule them all?

IsziI have multiple systems on which I want to implement whole-disk encryption using TrueCrypt. However, I'd rather not have to store a Rescue Disk for each. Is it possible to create one TrueCrypt Rescue Disk (or, to manually consolidate multiple Rescue Disks) that will work for all of these?

So I may have just bid on an Uber badge on Ebay because it's listed for Hackers for Charity....
@JeffFerland excellent!
@RoryAlsop I had this backfire on me once and ended up with a very expensive basket of wine at a Christmas charity auction.
Damn, somebody wanted that thing bad.

I am not so involved in the blackhat community but I am writing an article about a DDOS attack on several Norwegian sites a while back. I am wondering how much a botnet consisting of 1k would cost and eventually where I can find the information myself
yea I am reading that article atm now aswel
It's a couple years old...
thx.. however I'd love to see an actual "ad" for someone renting out a botnet

No worries though :) I'll just point to that blog entry

Wow its really hard getting decent pictures for articles

The advanced search page has a drop down for usage rights.
Granted, it requires that google somehow know how you've licensed the image, but it's at least a slightly better guarantee of ability to use.
