Hey everyone!
Do you know of an open source project in security that a student can contribute to?
I am looking to contribute some to the open source or work on real world projects
Am bored of the class assigments

@Limit Lots of open source projects are looking for contributors. Your student status won't matter to them. For example, here is how you can contribute to sqlmap: github.com/sqlmapproject/sqlmap/wiki/…

@Arminius Thanks a lot! Did you know it off the top of your head? I found some projects on github but I wanted something that I could on the sides. So if you used some link to find it, it would be of great help!

@Limit I just remembered that sqlmap is a lively and confributor-friendly project. In general, I'd just look for interesting open-source security tools and dig through their Github pages to find some info on how to contribute.
@Arminius perfect! Thanks!!

Does someone here by any chance has a security/software company?

@Limit OWASP projects are always looking for support, plus they are quite varied and you could do a lot of good. Take your pick: owasp.org/index.php/…

The 2017 Stack Overflow Developer Survey opened last week, and we on the Data Team are looking forward to analyzing the survey results to better understand our developer community. I am particularly interested in women in tech, for probably obvious reasons, and recently I explored last year's survey data to see what we can learn about women developers.
@AviD Thanks Avid! I found a project for me!! Yay!!

i'm having problem in understanding how open vpn exchanges encryption/decryption keys..does anyone know in simple words? the open vpn security overview is too complicated..how authentication takes place which allows users to know that you are talking to the right VPN server and not a hoax?
