Well - I got to read transcript, and twitter, and got some good info from @Shog I need to digest in terms of growth spikes and approaches when growth actually dramatically changes the makeup of a chat room etc...and the repair guy has sorted me out with a temporary fix that got me home so all is good (ish)

Back in 2014, he lost his phone and asked me to invalidate chat sessions. I couldn't - that was well before we properly integrated sessions across main sites much less chat.

That should all be a thing of the past now, and quite honestly I'd forgotten it was ever a thing... But that's what he's been referring to with all of this.
