@MarkHulkalo Nobody at this company has any motivation. A year ago, I took over a ten year old project that was essentially just a cardboard box with a few PC boards in it.
If I roll out this major project, I can show it off for future employers, otherwise I'm just some guy at some company working on a project and jumped ship for more money
@DavidFreitag If the project falls apart without you, it's their problem, not yours. They aren't paying you enough, and they aren't giving you any equity (are they?)
Yep. It works like this: If you're out there making $700k for your employer per year, paying you $0 makes them $700k. Paying you $100k makes them $600k, which is still $600k more than they'd make without you.
