I have a project that require client application to register and then use the services. I would like to do the following
1. A client app sends a request with IP, domain name etc tomy REST service
2. The rest service creates a new certificate based on the parameters and then sends back to the app...

@Xander actually I think he's talking about a client app, that he doesnt want to connect directly to the DB, except via a "web service". Hence the PHP.
First, may I ask why you think the app is not as secure as the website? Generally speaking, from a security perspective, one of the worse things you can possibly do is to involve PHP, which has more security pitfalls then, well, probably all of the other common technologies combined.

@AviD Oh, and you know what - it becomes really interesting with that much data doing the read across on the ones which are definitely doing well, the ones that may be okay, and the ones that I predict will die. I wish I had the deeper MI that SE has, but even just comparing the graphs is very enlightening
