the US is an incredibly religious country, just not a devout one.
@Gilles I think the issue is that even if you do not believe in the bible, that still does not make it fiction. Are philosophy books fiction? are history (sic) books fiction?
some parts of it could even be considered a stylized diary. Whether they are true or not, does not necessarily make it fiction.
@Gilles whether or not you believe in it, it's religion. It may not be yours, but it is religion. And as long as they are not beating you over the head with it, I say live and let belief.
When I was a kid, I focused on learning how to swim with just using my feet and just using my arms, in case I lose control of either while I'm swimming, so I should be good!

there's an obvious one liner that goes in this space and while I did already type it out, I used my better judgement to prevent it from actually arriving in chat.
there is a bunch that have taken to standing at the top of the stairs from the train station - I haven't yet worked out whether it is better to scowl at them and push past (as they stand in the way) and get to work on time, or to take an earlier train so I can really have a good rant
