So apparently because of the recent scams, the developer tools is exploited by people to post spam and even used to "hack" accounts. Facebook has blocked the developer tools, and I can't even use the console.
How did they do that?? One Stack Overflow post claimed that it is not possible, but F...
> We're testing this for some users to see if it can slow down some attacks where users are tricked into pasting (malicious) JavaScript code into the browser console.
Seriously, this is not a new thing. Back in the early IRC days, there were people who could be convinced that they could hack their mortal enemies by typing "format c:" into the command prompt. If you're going to be a moron, it's because you're a moron. Not because the browser doesn't protect you enough.
@RoryAlsop Well, see, a toolbox is filled with tools and is thus a much larger tool. Then there's the toolshed, and even further, the rarely seen wacky wild inflatable flailing tool emporium.
@RoryAlsop Although i should say topless instead of convertible. The roof is basically a tattered piece of cloth and the roof mechanism is pretty much knackered. Replacing it won't be cheap either.
But the whole purchase basically hinges around my ability, or rather inability, to drive a manual. It's a proper old car with a proper manual gearbox and I'm so excited about the prospect.
@AviD All you see for modern mustangs here is women driving a powder blue convertible. Extremely occasionally you will see a boss 500 roll by and blow your doors off.
@DavidFreitag it will not take you long to learn. It's always weird when thinking about the fact that in the US autos far outnumber manuals, whereas here there it is totally the opposite
@DavidFreitag I took one of the newish ones for a track day in '05 or '06 and it was terrible. At one point the guy running it said, "I don't think this will work for you - you obviously drive rally cars" - :-)
@RoryAlsop No that makes perfect sense. Americans are fat and lazy so they prefer not having to do anything but push one pedal and turn a big round thing.
Occasionally I have a manual as a rental on holiday, or whn mine is in the shop - I am astonished that people don't crash them more often. I always end up thinking I could fall asleep as there is nothing to do :-)
@DavidFreitag ...2015??? Blimming time travel has spread from Deloreans now, eh? :-)
my 8 year old is learning to cross streets himself. We were discussing today about how he also listens for cars - he was shocked that some dont make a lot of noise.
Welcome to the future, son.
:-)
@DavidFreitag Love that throaty growl, like a hot Scottish redhead whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
I definitely prefer that sound to say a Ferrari, which just annoys me, but my preference by far is the big boxer 4 cylinder 2.5 litre in my car, and the quite lovely turbo
Right, right. We should order the main part from Singapore, via a dummy corporation. Then quite separately we place an order to a Chinese company for these. Then put it together ourselves. It would need to be a large order, though, to avoid raising suspicion. Say, 10,000?
So, the little bird says there are a whole raft of new shows and movies coming up the stream. A Flash show, spinoff from Arrow, Gotham - a Batman prequel - Gordon's origin....
In other news i finally got around to buying the Dune audiobook box set. It's freaking fantastic. Also the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is on its way.
@TerryChia I write code while listening to music and semi watching youtube videos too but not really paying attention... only if the guy starts screaming or something itll make me rewind to see what happened
@DavidFreitag Hehe. Although I have to say that my coding involves writing small bits of code and waiting for people to review after I push it so it's not really comparable to working fulltime in an office.
@TerryChia Yeah I am the only person who works on my projects. Every now and then there is a flurry of emails about a particular bug or feature that needs to be added/removed/poked with a stick.
@TerryChia I guess that some people consider any safety feature such as refusing to recursively delete the whole system as an intolerable infringement on their freedom. Hence the flag.
@TerryChia If I had to rate it, I'd say it was of low-medium complexity. The only problem would probably have been figuring out the directories since there were no meaningful errors.
@TerryChia Yes, you're correct. It's a MySQL thing.
@Nick Sleep deprivation combined with bashing my face into Windows XP mode for windows 7 64bit for some legacy software on a core 2 duo with 4 gigs of ram.
@DavidFreitag Feel the same way but for another reason... found some wierd logs and not sure if its an OS fail or someone is trying to hide something from me
"Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system." grumble grumble grumble
IIRC 1000 is maximum anyone can earn from suggested edits, tho that's still a lot of them with +2 rep at the time, I wonder if he hit some max edits per day wall now too
