After going through all the comments, I understood @RamAbloh point is Taittiriya is much older than 24th yuga, so it is obvious that valmiki would be knowing about it. But @Carmensandiego here wants to know the sequence of events whether they are misaligned. If I understood this correctly, I would suggest @RamAbloh to post an answer which says Taittiriya is much older than what's said in the question.

@TheLittleNaruto - that is not my question. I too believe that the shakha can be older than 24th tryw yuga. Question is how can it be named Taittriya in 24th yuga when the said event from where it acquired the name happened in 28th dwapar yuga.
@TheLittleNaruto - also you are mistaken in thinking RamAbloh considers it to be older than 24th treta yuga. In his comments he has made it clear that he does not believe in the expansive yuga timelines
