baby wiki acharya

In Indian religions and society, an acharya (IAST: ācārya) is a preceptor or instructor in religious matters; founder, or leader of a sect; or a highly learned person or a title affixed to the names of learned people. The designation has different meanings in Hinduism, Buddhism and secular contexts. Acharya is sometimes used to address a teacher or a scholar in any discipline, e.g.: Bhaskaracharya, the mathematician. == Etymology == The term "acharya" is most often said to include the root "char" or "charya" (conduct). Thus it literally connotes "one who teaches by conduct (example)", i.e. an...

Q: Death formalities done under wrong Gotra

AbyI want to know what happens if all the death related formalities ie, Puja, Antim Sanskar, Pind daan, Asthi Visarjan, etc are done unknowingly using wrong gotra. Are there any remedies mentioned in any Hindu texts regarding the same if later the correct gotra is known.

10:16 AM
@AkshayS Namaskar!

@Pandya I greatly appreciate your answer here
since I come from the UK where since childhood we are presented with this symbol as representing the ultimate evil and horror, it's actually quite difficult for me to control my reaction to seeing it everywhere
a bit like Doris Lessing's character in The Four Gated City saying that because of "my generation" she cannot wear a black shirt
I thought it would help me to research the significance of the Swastika
thank you for helping me :)
Could you perhaps provide a transliteration and translation for the mantra at the end?

@Zanna May be because Nazi's symbol was somewhat like Swastik but didn't have central points.

I see the Nazi symbol every time and have to deliberately discard that meaning
unfortunately the human visual cortex has a mighty power of recognition. I don't know how long it will take me to get used to this haha

A: What is the meaning of "Swasti na Indro Vridhhashravaha..."?

TejasweeThis whole mantra forms the first passage of Taittariya Aranyaka of YajurVeda. The first verse "Om Bhadram Karnebhi Srinuyaam Devaha" also exists in RigVeda 1.89.8 Here is the meaning of the above mantra: ॐ भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवाः । Om Bhadram Karnebhiḥ Srinuyaam Devah Om, M...

@Zanna You are used to that. When I was a kid and I saw Nazi symbol for the first time, I thought it's Swastik and might be a good political party but then I read the history and you know what's next.

@Kulfy oh thanks! :) :) :)
@Kulfy of course, they chose it to have a good meaning, they thought they were doing right, etc

I'll say that's human nature and ignorance. Human think that what they are doing is correct. No questions asked.

yes I consider myself damaged, you know? It's not the symbol, or its users here that are at fault, it's me

We are in habit of making excuses to such extent that we can't even judge ourselves. And that's where destruction begins (IMO)

ah what are you referring to? You are saying something very interesting, but I don't quite catch it...

10:45 AM
Just general case. Like I wasn't able to achieve my goal. Why?? Because I wasn't focused but to satisfy my ego I'll say that's because "some" happened to me and I got no time or "this" distracted me. I got a plan B.

ah so I'll put the blame outside

@Zanna Thanks. Btw, I encourage to have a more authentic and reliable information seek from Brahmanas if you want to study or research more :)

when growing self-awareness is the only way to move forward

@Zanna Exactly.

@Pandya thank you! I appreciate any input. I need a kind of knowledge-immersion therapy for this :)

10:48 AM

baby wiki samkhya yoga

Samkhya or Sankhya (Sanskrit: सांख्य, IAST: sāṃkhya) is one of the six āstika schools of Hindu philosophy. It is most related to the Yoga school of Hinduism, and it was influential on other schools of Indian philosophy. Sāmkhya is an enumerationist philosophy whose epistemology accepts three of six pramanas (proofs) as the only reliable means of gaining knowledge. These include pratyakṣa (perception), anumāṇa (inference) and śabda (āptavacana, word/testimony of reliable sources). Sometimes described as one of the rationalist schools of Indian philosophy, this ancient school's reliance on reason...

Q: Influence of Samkhya on other dashanas

bmeloCan I say Sankhya as the oldest hindu philosophy has influenced all the other darshanas like Vedanta? That implies all astika darshanas are derivative from Sankhya, not necessarily conflicting or contradictory. Let's get the example Advaita Vedanta vs Samkhya: Sankhya says there is phenomenical...

Q: Why did Gods leave us to rot under British rule?

Shashwat AsthanaWeren't we the only Santana Dharmis? Then why did Gods forsake us? British looted us, raped our women, killed our people. The mughals raped us Hindus, and mass converted us. Then why didn't the Gods help us? I used to take an oath every day in my previous school that all Indians are my brothers...
