@BhargavRao in case of you are referring to my edits then changing tone from 1st person to 3rd person is valid. The Qn becomes on-topic as the specific custom of circumcision is ancient.
@TheDestroyer @NogShine that Qn was abusive. I agree. But also to note that advertising agenda (political or business) can also be a spam. However "abusive" suits better in this case.
Parenting is about to have the first ever pro tempore election. If it goes well, we'll finally be able to start completing this request. — Jon Ericson ♦ 3 hours ago
@iammilind I don't have any issue with your edit to the body, it was correct. However, the title shouldn't have been changed in that manner, "Can a Hindu get circumcised for medical reasons?" would have been apt there. I'm more concerned about the edit by sv, though.
01:11
@BhargavRao I changed title for future duplicates as it looks more generalised. For example if someone will ask in future, "How was circumcision viewed during ancient times?" then a generalised title will cater as duplicate.
Btw original Qn was already present as last line. So it served the intent IMO
Nopes, the original question was clear that they wanted to know if they could get a circumcision. Hinduism's view on circumcision would be a broader question, and only slightly related to this.
I understand that you wanted to make it more discoverable to potential duplicates, but in that process, you made the title ask a bit different question than the body.

@iammilind He is talking about sv edit. His edit changed the question drastically.
04:26
@NogShine Can you ask him to use full word "Question" ?
@TheLittleNaruto you asked it already in the comments. Why again? I don't like repetition.
@NogShine But he is still doing that.
Haha

Q: Does the narrator of Ramayana appear in Ramayana?

S KI believe Vyasa appears in Mahabharata. Is there anything like that in Ramayana?

Why didn't this question make HNQ in spite of three answers in a very short time?
no votes on accepted answer also.
This would make 1k views if it is another SE site.
Too bad

@TheLittleNaruto When you propose a tag edit, check if there are any new and unnecesary tags. They can be removed.
@NogShine Ok I'll from next time.

@TheLittleNaruto why so serious about such a short form? :-) I am mostly on mobile & it saves typing. Beside it's known to all that short form.
@TriyugiNarayanMani This process is different from normal election pocedure.
@iammilind First of all I am not serious lol. I am just saying while you're on site/forum like this one, use complete words. It's just the way.

Q: does scripture prescribe what dues must be paid to the dead?

Q: Third eye of Lord Narasimha

Manoj GowdaThe Narasimhar sannidhi in Srirangam temple has Narasimha moorthy with a third eye like Shiva. Is the third eye of Lord Narasimha mentioned in any scriptures like Puranas or Upanishads?

07:40
@NogShine yeah, that's true as well.
08:01
@BhargavRao I called for the mods but I don't expect a positive response from them.
Let's see.
In the past, they have responded and rolled back such edit. Their version is also overridden. Editor said let's wait for the OP. OP didn't change his question. You remember that question. Don't you?
Why to modify a question into on-topic when the question is not what OP wanted to ask? How is it helpful when the new question is not helpful to the OP?
Yeah, true. I do remember when that rollback was done.
OP retained his original version. :D
If it were me, I'd roll it back to iammilind's edit and change the title back to the original one, with a few minor grammar edits.
08:08
@BhargavRao I would do the same. The question became on-topic after iammilind's edit. No further edit was required.
But I don't want an edit war.
if mods decline, I will do that.
Hinduism Stack Exchange is a part of SE network after all. It is bound to help center.
Yeah, let's wait for their decision.
