1:53 AM
@TheLittleNaruto there’s some stuff about Mahatma Gandhi and all

2:43 AM
@Archit Okay! Basically most questions are related. Like asking whose work can be considered to cite sources on posted answers.
We really need to identify people whose work reference can be used to cite sources. We should only allow works of those people who studied scripture as per Dharma like under some Guru's guidance etc. Otherwise answers from these anthropologist will only bring chaos. — TheLittleNaruto Sep 21 at 11:30
@idol Translation is not a problem here, it becomes a problem when one does their own analysis in order to deny any event which have occurred in itihasa or scripture. Hope this is clear to you now. — TheLittleNaruto 2 days ago
Couple of inputs from my side @Archit @RamAbloh You guys can also contribute in setting up the boundaries.

3:41 AM
@TheLittleNaruto cool
Will check later in the day or sometime on th
in the middle
Btw nice inputs they make sense

@Archit Thanks
@Archit looking forward!
@Carmen is busy nowadays; He said he will show up in chat after some days.
We can ask him to look into these meta activities too.

Arey you know more than this I think we should start a new discussion on what is considered an authentic source. That’s like a big self explanatory meta post which draws the lines and can be used for reference in future
As in In stead of having so many individual discussions, a consolidated discussion in one meta post only would be appropriate. What say?

1 hour later…
4:58 AM
@Archit Yeah! For that to happen, we need to collect opinion of all users or at least maximum number of users.
@Archit @RamAbloh @Carmen @Others I would request you users to post your opinion under this post: hinduism.meta.stackexchange.com/q/1993/647
Once we receive enough number of answers from different users, then would be the right time to consolidate everything and wrap up in a single meta post.
@SwapnilDas Welcome to Hinduism Chatroom :)

@TheLittleNaruto Thank you :)

@SwapnilDas Have you joined chatroom first time?

Probably yes, the first time.

Nice
Any texts have you read already?

5:13 AM
I study Jyotisha so mostly texts related to the same.

I have read a book related to Jyotisha

I mostly landed to the site for some guide to the study of Mantra Shastra.
@TheLittleNaruto Oh Great.
Which one, btw?

@SwapnilDas Yeah it was very old actually and I read that in 2007(IIRC!)
It was named as "Samudric Vidhya"

@TheLittleNaruto Oh, I see. Do you like, see charts and stuff?

The book talks about palm astrology

5:17 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Ah palmistry. I see.

@SwapnilDas I used to understand palmistry that time; I mean I could see any hand and could guess all possibilities as per the book.
But now it faded away; I hardly remember anything

@TheLittleNaruto Wow, that's great. You must be young at the time, no?

@SwapnilDas Actually Astrology is also called "Samudrik Vidhya"
@SwapnilDas Yea! I was 17. lol

@TheLittleNaruto aha, I also started when I was 17. I am 19 now lol

lol
Nice
But I was kinda atheist that time, was not really into these Dharmic thingy. Just out of curiosity, I read that book.
Funny thing was, I got this book from our family doctor when I had visited his clinic for some illness

5:21 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Whatta coincidence! When I started, I also was an atheist.

@TheLittleNaruto Lol! He had a nice backup if medicines didn't work :P

@SwapnilDas Like what are meters of Mantras and how to pronounce them ?
@SwapnilDas haha!

@TheLittleNaruto Ya, something like that. Parts of Mantra, Seers and reasoning of the mantra type.

@SwapnilDas Very nice! It's a research subject atm or you're also practicing in parallel?

5:25 AM
@TheLittleNaruto I'm studying Jyotisha so I kinda require it.

@SwapnilDas Could you help me in understanding why mantra shastra is required for Jyotisha?

@TheLittleNaruto Ya sure. Basically you need to 'derive' the 'working-reason' for every mantra.

Ah I see
@SwapnilDas So in case if any dosha is found and if Jyotisha is recommending some mantra to chant; that's where you would need it, right?

@TheLittleNaruto Ya, that can be done too. But the shastra is required to study the mantra. I'll give you an example to make my point.

Can you also give an example just for the clarity. lol! Sorry if it's too much I am asking for.
@SwapnilDas Thanks lol

5:31 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Not at all :)
Ya so..
aum hrīṁ klīṁ huṁ mātaṅgyai phat svāhā

This is devi Matangi beeja mantra

This is Mantangi's Ten Syllable Mantra, everyone has heard of.

Ya true. We say, that a specific mantra works for a specific thing, how on earth do you know? What's the proof?

Yeah right
How? and what proof?

5:33 AM
So here's the derivation of the working:
Mataṅgī’s daśākṣarī mantra has 7 words.
Also, it has 10 aksaras.
It takes the energy of the 7th bhāva (feelings of partnership) to the 10th house of career/karma
Surya is also digbali in 10th house.
Therefore, It suppresses the negative aspects of the Sun, which are ego, and controlling nature.
Natural 7th lord is Venus which is karaka of Shuddi, therefore it causes Shuddhi of the 10th house.
That's why this Mantra is recommended for Career. That's the 'derivation' :)

Interesting!
Thank you :)

@TheLittleNaruto Yeah it is. No problem, pleasure :)

@SwapnilDas I always hear the house of the planets
How many are there?

There are 12 houses in a chart.

And each represent one planet, right?

5:39 AM
Nope. Each house is a 30 degree division of the sky (nakshatra mandala), and is given a sign as per rising Lagna. Planets sit 'in' the houses.

But I have heard that each house can be occupied by different planet based on the nakshatra and tara of birth time

@TheLittleNaruto Ya, any house can be occupied by any planet.

@SwapnilDas I see
@SwapnilDas So let's say somebody took birth today; How would we say that this planet sit in so number house ?
I mean like we have date already; can we prepare the chart from this alone?

You'd see the time and place of birth and cast the chart there. The transit at that time would be the person's chart.

Why place of birth matters? Because of geographic diversity?

5:42 AM
All the three are required for the chart, therefore things like rashifal doesn't work and is mere business in Jyotisha's name.

@SwapnilDas "transit at that time" ? Please explain this part.

@TheLittleNaruto No, planet's degrees are required for predictions. That's why.

@SwapnilDas Interesting Man!

@TheLittleNaruto Transit or 'gochar' is basically the planetary position at the time of birth.
Like for Example now, Saturn is somewhere between 270 to 300 degrees from the horizon in the sky, so it's in Capricorn. And so on.

@SwapnilDas This is super interesting!

5:46 AM
Hehe :)

It is fascinating to see that our ancestors were so genius.
I mean finding degree of planets based on the place is really a tough job.

If you go very deep into research level astrology, you'd realize how beautiful God's mind is.

I already started realizing that.
Thank you for this very informative chat.

Like the same combination that gives a career in research can also give marital cheating at the workplace. Who can think of that!
@TheLittleNaruto Pleasure :)

@SwapnilDas And how would we figure that out?
May be you can teach me at least basics lol

5:49 AM
@TheLittleNaruto 8th lord in 10th. 8th is research (anything hidden )and 10th is job. But 8th is also 2nd to 7th (death of marriage) and 10th is job again.
So career is research -- Cheating at work have same kinda combination.

ahrgs!

They're not like buy one get one free, so that's where intuition comes in. You have to see which one is gonna happen :P

@SwapnilDas Ok! How do you say that "8th lord in 10th" ?
@SwapnilDas haha right

@TheLittleNaruto Say 8th house has Libra sign. Lord is Venus if Venus is in 10th, you get the combination.
Each sign has a lord that owns it. Therefore the reasoning.

@SwapnilDas Is there anyone whose birth chart's planets in each house are same as the lord of that house?
This would be ideal condition right?

5:54 AM
Ya, like say 8th lord in 8th house? Sure :)
Anyone born rt now would have that. Saturn is in Capricorn which its own sign.
@TheLittleNaruto Not rly, nothing is ideal.

@SwapnilDas I think I would need to know basics to understand that.
Saturn is associated with Capricorn?

@TheLittleNaruto Ya, it would be clear with time.
@TheLittleNaruto Yes Capricorn and Aquarius r lorded by Saturn.

I should note it down

lol.
If you ever want to study the subject, you can check out Pandit Sanjay Rath's lectures online. They're heaven on earth.

@SwapnilDas Let me subscribe to the channel.

6:03 AM
Sure, it's called Atri Lectures by SJC. Search 'em up.

How did you develop the interest in learning Jyotisha?
Do you have a family background?

Nope.
It came to me.

Guess Parmatma made a path for everyone; one should be ready to choose/pick the path.

I was actually supposed to study for JEE and stuff, and I heard my parents talking about some jyotisha's wrong prediction about me which they told me always when I underperformed. I was enraged that day and vowed to study the subject myself and learn if it's true or not. Kinda filmy lmao.

@SwapnilDas Sadhu! Sadhu!
@SwapnilDas Also no swear word please :D

6:08 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Oh sure, Kaliyuga nowadays :P

haha I can understand

@TheLittleNaruto Not really, that destroyed my 12th exams, now I'm in BITS lol.
That too in poor conditions :/

@SwapnilDas BITS is still good.
Pilani one right?

I'm in BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus. Good for the branch I want, not sure for Engg.

Which branch you took?

6:10 AM
I've come for branch transfer, let's see.

Alright

@TheLittleNaruto I was actually there in NIT rourkela Msc. Mathematics. Then I came to Bits.

@SwapnilDas Why left NIT?

I've no Major rt now, I'd get something after December so.

Yeah first year is like that only

6:11 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Not a good Mathematical Physics Dept. String Theory is non existent

Even if you take any major, the syllabus is same across all branches.

@TheLittleNaruto Yeah, true.

That is just in first year!

What is?

@SwapnilDas Syllabus being same in all branches

6:13 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Yes yes.

@SwapnilDas If you take Computer science; and if You need any help let me know. I would be happy to help you.

@TheLittleNaruto Oh thank you. I kinda ruined by BITSAT like hell, all I got for the default is B.Pharm lol.

Yeah, that's the tragedy :P

Hey it's alright! You never know what's there in future.

6:15 AM
May your words come true :)

Yes yes. That's it.

But that's in Tamil
Os is this the one: youtube.com/user/sanjayrath ?

Checkout Playlists--> Atri Classes.

@TheLittleNaruto That's his channel. He doesn't post much.
@TheLittleNaruto Yup :)

Great! Saved it to my library!

@SwapnilDas I always feel good when I see young ones like you coming forward and learning about Dharma on your own. :)

@Kulfy We have few users who are studying 10th or below and have a great knowledge. For example check this boy profile: https://hinduism.stackexchange.com/users/11510/karmanya-nanda He is studying class 8. Look at his question quality and answers as well.

10:35 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Thank you :)

@SwapnilDas :)
@SwapnilDas Read below message! You'll be amazed

@TheLittleNaruto I did. That's a lot of talent.

Yeah!
@SwapnilDas But whoever is on the path of Parmatma through any means shall not be compared by age. :)

10:51 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Sure. His knowledge must be the result of lifetimes of penance.

@SwapnilDas Yeah prarbdha karma

Hmm.

Q: Why didn't Krishna killed only Kauravas and allowed death of many Innocent people?

Subramanya KulalIf krishna was ready to break all Rules and Promises why didn't he just kill only Kauravas? He was ready to fight against Bhishma and was ready to break promise by lifting a Wheel.
