Q: Please create tags only when required

SarvabhoumaAs of late, many new tags are being created for every single question. If we look at some, they are really meaningless and silly tags. Some are meta tags which add nothing to the question, ambiguous (which means different meaning to different persons) or either can't stand as a single tag on the ...

@NogShine I am here for cleaning work :P

@AkshayS see that meta question I posted
I actually thought of a different title altogether. XD

Q: History of Brahman diet

skaul05What is the history of brahman diet? Brahmins are generally vegetarians but there are some exceptions to it such as Pancha-Gauda Brahmans, Kashmiri Brahmans, and Oriya Brahmins? So why is there so much difference?

Q: Is worship of Lord Hanuman associated with Vaishnavism or Shaivism?

RishxLord Hanuman, as we know is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama (Lord Vishnu's incarnation). But at the same time He is said to be Lord Shiva's incarnation. So is Hanuman worship more associated with Vaishnavism or Shaivism? Do Hanuman temples follow Vaishnavas' rituals or Shaivas' rituals?

1:56 PM
@Hinduismbot Hanuman avatar of Shiva is interpolation of scripture? Haha.... @TheDestroyer see this

@AkshayS It's better if we don't post such comments. They produce flame for debates.

@TheDestroyer ok... u can delete it....

Q: Which avatar of Vishnu took place in the twenty first yuga?

sidharth chhabraIn the Skanda Purana, Prabhasa kanda, chapter 19 there is a list of incarnations of Vishnu. It mentions an avatar to kill the asuras in the 21st dwapara yuga. Verse 79-80: It was in the twenty-first Dvapara towards its close. When Dharma was spoiled Visnu was born in the Vrsni dynasty. H...

Just_Do_ItWhen we say that a person is in deep meditation then what exactly do we mean: Is the person still aware of what is going around him, like he can hear the various sounds be it anything? Q: How does Vedanta Desikan interpret Ramanujacharya’s statement about Brihaspati’s brother Samvarta?

Keshav SrinivasanThe Satadhusani is a work by the Sri Vaishnava Acharya Vedanta Desikan consisting of 100 refutations of Adi Shankaracharya's philosophy of Advaita. One chapter of the work is devoted to refuting the Advaita view that those who have attained Brahmajnana do not have to follow the rules of Varnashra...

@AkshayS haha

Hi Everyone, what do you scholars know of Prahlad's rule after Hiranyakashipu was killed and before Bali was born?

@MetaBot @NogShine that's great

@sidharthchhabra we are not scholars. Second scholars can't realise Parabrahma. Third Prahalads rule is there in scriptures I believe.

@sidharthchhabra Hello

@KrishnaShweta I am cracking serial downvoters. Today in same time 4 authors profile shows 2 pair of downvotes

4:42 PM
Oh!
But I don't think anything can be done.

@KrishnaShweta voting can be changed if we find this proof properly
@KrishnaShweta today shiva linga abisheka u did?

@AkshayS hmm.. but how are you finding it?

@KrishnaShweta going thru authors profile. I did go through

@AkshayS no. I visited cousin's home yesterday night and came back by evening. So didn't get the chance
@AkshayS It's consumes so much time

@KrishnaShweta ohoo... so u had nice time with relations...

4:52 PM
Yes.. it was great time. After long time I visited

@KrishnaShweta here for me in my house relations are torcher

Haha why so?

@KrishnaShweta they consistently monitor what I do and ask why I did not go to job yet...

@AkshayS btw.. even I don't like much to stay with relatives. 2 or 3 hours is enough. After that I start waiting for the time to tell "good bye" :P

@KrishnaShweta if I get close they ll start dictating what I should do :P

4:56 PM
@AkshayS Yes... that's true. But here in addition to that they ask about marriage.
@AkshayS lol

@KrishnaShweta after marriage one cannot attend public function without news of pregnancy here.....where I live. .. no pregnant means they see as cheap and ask to go to doctor
@KrishnaShweta that's torcher literally. This is how Maya works :P

@AkshayS yes :/
People are very much bothered about other's life, indirectly they look for a chance to make others feel bad

@KrishnaShweta that's why I maintain distance with them. Not often I go to their house....:P
@KrishnaShweta the day when one bothers about himself there his life will change

@AkshayS Haha.. but don't disappear fully. Sometimes talk to them.
@AkshayS true..

@KrishnaShweta yes that's also danger.... 25/75...
Sorry for late reply. Was stuck in a call

5:12 PM
Btw.. I get confusion in time system. Yugas etc..
That answer is wrong. Rama incarnated in 24th Tretayuga in this manvantara. Krishna incarnated in 28th treta yuga in this manvantara. There will be no need of Rama and Krishna to incarnate again and again. Even if should happen, incarnations repeat once in Kalpa only and not each chaturyuga. — Sarvabhouma 2 days ago
@AkshayS 25/75? Means?
@AkshayS It's fine.. You are free to reply when you have time. No hurry.

@KrishnaShweta percentange wise just staying in touch... majority stay away!
@KrishnaShweta wats the confusion?

@AkshayS ok..

@KrishnaShweta @NogShine is not at all coming here! :((

@AkshayS In Nog's comment, 24th and 28th.. I didn't understand
@AkshayS yes :(

@KrishnaShweta do you know 71 chaturyuga = 1 manvantra?
1 chaturyuga = 4 yugas

5:23 PM
@AkshayS Ha.. I read a post on it.. but..

@KrishnaShweta but?

We believe that time is cyclic right?

@KrishnaShweta its not belief its a fact.

Then.. why did Nog specified 24th tretayuga only?
@AkshayS yes ^^

@KrishnaShweta in 24th treta yuga rama took avatar in this kalpa .. in next time cycle of next kalpa nexy Rama avatar would happen.
@KrishnaShweta look at still broader in terms of kalpa the cycle of time
@KrishnaShweta I don't like personal beliefs or belief system. Belief can swing either way. But accept God as existential reality! That's true spirituality
Understanding the Dharma of Nature and being harmony with nature gives a human mental peace. SHANTI. That's basics of spirituality! @KrishnaShweta
At the time of quitting your body you also have to leave personal beliefs... only then moksha is possible!

5:30 PM
@AkshayS So, does it mean that every single day of Brahma, Vishnu takes Rama avatar?
@AkshayS ha yes

@KrishnaShweta mostly that's likely.. but detailed research needed to confirm this.

@KrishnaShweta ok... going to sleep...now...

Ok.. GN

Q: What daily practices (achara - anushtana) should a brahmana follow?

ramBrahamanas (at least orthodox followers) are expected to follow a ton of daily achara & anushtana, for e.g. Anushtana: Get up during brahma muhurta Do Pratah-Sandhya before sun-rise Do Ijyai (Aradhana) before eating. Achara: Wash legs before eating Attend nature's call with yagnopaveetam on ri...
