PandyaThe oldest and primary scripture we do have is Veda and we know that ancient Rishis heard Veda in the state of Tapasya directly from Ishwara and that is called Shruti. Hello @Akash.B
It depends on What are your beliefs and definition of religion?
If this is the first time you are using Stack Exchange chat, visit chat faq.

why there are different religions isn't the same god who created us all?
no I have been using physics stack exchange

Because different people understood, experienced and saw that same God as different. Based on those observations, they gave definitions of that god.
@Akash.B Cool.

How can I reach near god?

BTW, which religion are you born?
(I can think of one based on your profile picture)
@Pandya comes in like a lightning

Even though god knows that we humans will do adharmas then why he created us all?

@Pandya Thanks. It is still far from 10k
@Akash.B It is human nature to do things good and bad. God created many beings and gave some duties to perform. He also gave the intellect to human beings. It is our choice what things we have to do.

How our gods born and who created our god?

Can I study science
2

lol Why this question ?

Oh well Once I just disbelieve my god on the basis of science I often told that there is no god and the reason for our existence is science

You must do what you're supposed to do. It's your Karma
You study your science
That's what you should do.

But I can't science is opposing what i beleive

What do you believe ?

10:26 AM
I believe god is responsible for our existence but the science is opposing it

Science is saying the same thing, it just, it didn't use the word "God".
Check my answer.

But how?

And try to compare with the concept of blackhole

Black hole, the giant hole with mysteries

@HayaRaed Hello!

I am not a hindu .. but i am curious to know about it
i know nothing frankly

which is completely fine.

is it ok if someone tells me the basics

well our god is infinite like space no one can explain it briefly

10:38 AM
so u believe in god

Do you believe in God @HayaRaed ?

yes i do

Do you believe God is one ? @Haya
:-)

yes if i understand u correctly

10:40 AM
i like to know about religions in general .. other perspectives
i believe that following a religion gives a peace of mind and i find it interesting to know how others find this peace through their religion

Hinduism Philosophy is very broad. So many people with different experience and different concepts explained it.

Just reciting the devotional songs

is it related to animals in any ways .. certain religions forbid eating animals for example .. they believe in animals in a different way

@HayaRaed Answering to that, I would say you need to be focused on more to spirituality.

can I learn bramhaasthras mentioned in mahabharata

10:48 AM
@HayaRaed According to Tantra, everything is Shiva. Whether it is human animals birds mountains etc each and everything that you can see. The more you'll understand God, more you'll stop doing things which does not look good , for example eating animals.

@HayaRaed yes, Hinduism does not force anyone to eat animals and it condemns violence of animals

what do u mean by Shiva?

@HayaRaed God

so too many Gods?
not one?

The Ultimate Reality
God is one.

10:50 AM
do u mean everything is from Shiva (God) but not God

hmm

You can name it anything, I named him Shiva

@TheLittleNaruto Haya asked for basics man..

Some named him Allah
Some named him God

What you are saying is very very advanced.

10:50 AM
ah ok i thought this is the name .. i didn't want to name God something wrong
who is Tantra

@NogShine You're right.

but i don't get how God is one but everything is God

thelittlenarut but in muslim they used to eat animals

As long as they're not on the path of reaching to that Supreme Lord

hmm

10:52 AM
They'll do such stuffs
It does not matter which religion they belong to
@HayaRaed read this answer: hinduism.stackexchange.com/a/26072/647

IF god is one why such division among the humans?
hmm

what do u mean by division?

THE religions

That is one of the state of God where he experience himself. This state is called Maya. @Akash.B

Guys.. you are confusing among yourselves.

10:55 AM
I didn't got it

@Akash.B read my answer to your question

where is your answer?

@Akash.B under your question

Thats what i told you, i didn't understand the term maya
hmm

I believe that there should be only one God that everyone believes in .. and that God has given us all the guidelines needed to lead a life with success and as good humans ..
does hinduism have hell and paradise?
an after life?

11:04 AM
YEs, Hinduism believes in afterlife
and the cycle of birth and rebirth.

how do u know what is right and wrong? is there a book / spiritual leader ?
ok good
i read the article sent previously

Hell is called Naraka and paradise is called Swarga.

so all creatures are how God expresses himself?

Exactly

ok...
even humans?
what about the soul?

11:06 AM
Swarga is the abode of the devas or demigods. Those who have done good practices go to Heaven and who are sinners go to hell.

devas means?
devils?
does God have a soul?

No, they are the divine beings.

so all of you are hindu?

There are books which say what is good and which is bad and which practices takes you to which destination for how much long too.
but either of the places I have mentioned above are temporary. After experiencing their fruits of the action, they take birth again.
About soul, there are different philosophies in Hinduism. Each of them have a different observation about soul. Soul is called Atma. Some say there is only one soul in the world which is God and there is nothing else in the world. There are others which preach non monism too. All these observations are from the texts itself. The difference is due to the difference in point of view.

so there is no holy book .. one that everyone should follow

11:17 AM
@HayaRaed yeah

There are many of them.

11:57 AM
@HayaRaed No I am also a Muslim and Christian as well.

Q: Are we correctly tagging "scripture" tag?

SarvabhoumaRecently, I have found out that scripture tag is not correctly used. According to the tag wiki excerpt of the scripture: For questions about the holy texts of Hinduism. @YDS ^

YDS
Thank you....Reading..

but I don't understand what @Pandya mean by explicit reference
I take explicit as "need a quote from scriptures" as explicitly asking.
Use identification when you are not sure about the source

YDS
Much confusion :)

I am following that meta post and others are not.
That is why the confusion.

4:05 PM
@NogShine i want answer from scriptures only and not from journals or words of saints...then we can use scripture tag instead of identification request.right?

I am removing and asking to remove that tag if the question has nothing to do with texts.
@YDS You can just say that you want from scriptures and not from any journal or anything else. Like a bounty notice. That is enough. The tag has other purposes on SE.
Tags don't say what OP is looking the answer from. The body does.
But it is true that some users add scriptures for each and every question, Sometimes, based on their understanding and answers. Not based on questions.

YDS
@NogShine "Scripture is used to find scriptural reference. Identification request is used to find verse locations or image locations"~@TheDestroyer this seems logical..

@YDS What is the difference between verse location and scriptural reference?

YDS
May be someone gave verse in Q and want to know where this verse foumd in BhagvadGita...then bhagvatGita and identificationReq seem suitable tags...

Using the scripture tags for scriptural reference is redundant.
It can be just said in the question itself. What is the need of the tag again?

YDS
4:18 PM
Ok...then where to use scripture tag?
We hv identification req for general Q and individual scripture tags...

@YDS If someone knows it is in the Bhagavad Gita, then it is not a real question

YDS
@NogShine really...i hv seen few Qn here...
Users post some image and ask where it is mentioned in Gita..

@YDS We should use when the question is about the scriptures or the question discusses a scripture in the body. There are many scriptures without a tag. For that, it can be used.
@YDS Image????
I have given some solutions when to use scripture tag in the question above,

YDS
@NogShine i mean image on which text is written..

and also in a recent meta discussion.
@YDS If the image is the only question, it is a lowa quality question,
