Q: What has been your experience with Narayana Kavacha(m)?

Vijay SekharThose who practiced Narayana Kavacham, what has been your experience, i.e. did it help your cause or did it not work & if so why, etc.?

1:54 AM
@NogShine lol, low quality, unworthy, rejected :)

@Pandya plus, I will tag it with scripture. It will automatically become high quality. :D

It will decrease the quality of the tag scripture instead.

@Hinduismbot I was typing the close reason and Pandya closed it at the same time.
@Pandya Yes, such questions definitely decrease quality of the site.

@Hinduismbot looks cross-religon or off/topic or candidate for migration.

@Hinduismbot @Pandya this is also a bit unclear to me. I was a bit surprised by a reply I got.
who are you? where is Destroyer and Mod Keshav? I was old contributor about 2years back — Ravi 7 hours ago

@Pandya @SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury knows something about such stuff. I think he can say which site is better to migrate.

Q: Comment flags should be cleared before moving them into chat

SarvabhoumaEven though we know comments are not for extended discussion, comments under the question or answer goes on to become a discussion. There have been a several chat rooms which are imported from comments. When such discussions happen, few users are crossing the line and posting unfriendly and rude ...

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury about that question about Torah.

Q: What does the word YHWH means in Torah?

RaviIts bit off religion, but there is a reference of YHWH(Yahweh) in Bible/Torah in Hebrew as the Supreme Holy Father or God, kinda similar to Purusha in Vedas Exodus 6:3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD (YHWH) I was not known to...

Rohit.How many least reps one should have to ensure the one's account deletion doesn't affect others on whom the one voted?

How do you transfer all the comments into chatroom? @NogShine

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury mods can do it.

Q: What sciptures says about partial fasts of Kaliyuga?

RishabhI have seen almost every people in today's time don't do fasts with shastriya vidhi OR we can say they don't follow full rules of fasts. For example: If we read fasts vidhi about any fasts then we came to know that there is lots of samagri that we need to give to Lord i.e. In Satya Narayana fast...

Q: Why doesn't the system auto-detect/auto-correct the unfair voting that happens due to sock puppets?

RickrossIn case of serial voting the system auto detects and corrects the voting. So, there is nothing to worry about. But why can't it do the same in case of the unfair voting that is happening between (or due to) sock puppets (aliases; same user different accounts)? I myself have asked a question on ...

Q: Earliest reference of any astrologer (jyotisi) in Rig Veda

B.N. BhaskarJyotis shastra i.e. astrology is one of ancient science of Hinduism, believed to be started right from Rig Vedic period that developed into a vast body of knowledge by many ancient astrologers. My question here is whether Rig Veda mentions name of any astrologer of that period ?

8:09 AM
@Pandya Who will decide what's low quality? You?
@NogShine Low quality is relative wordword. According to me and dozens of people sects or religions believibelieving in eternal hallucinatory places after death is low quality or childish.
If you wanna downvote, please do it. Don't play orgies Of gratifying decisions on what's low and high quality. @Pandya @NogShine . I don't want to open Pandora box.

@TheLittleNaruto haha That was needed , just a simple graphic invitation. BTW you are invited . :-)

@SwiftPushkar Thank you. :)
But I won't join though.

@TheLittleNaruto hmm try , not necessarily one should chat , but can simply join also.
I missed many names but will try to invite them through comments.

@SwiftPushkar I rather check transcripts instead of being ideal.

8:50 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Yes :-)

9:10 AM
@NogShine BTW I don't know how to schedule chat event ,can you pls.help me in that 😃

@Rohith. Mind your language when you chat with others. There is a conduct on how to speak and what type of terms to use. I am reminding that again because you say you don't have much time about al this stuff. So, be civil and polite which talking with others.
@Rohith. Okay. But that is the not the definition by the site. So, when you are in Rome, be a Roman.
@Rohith. That's definitely not you. Having 10000 questions with infinite possibilities is not a very good question. It is just like asking for dream interpretations and asking personal advice. So, the site generates questions like "I am born on XYZ day. How am I special?". That is going downwards. Asker and answerer will get loads of rep but not useful for religion. Who knows Q&A style of asking, will know that.
Use names. Not by caste, religion or something else.

Where is that rule?
Wait.

@NogShine Tell me what's the definition of low or high quality here?
and who has forged the defintion?

@SwiftPushkar Wow! Nicely designed. I nevers seen such an invitation before! (especially for chat)! Excellent 👏👏👏

9:21 AM
@Rohith. Isn't this getting personal? I am tempted to move it away but I don't want do it for only one.

No
this is well knownb
tell me what is the defition of quality here? who will decide what is high quality and what s low??

@Rohith. Namaskar!

@Pandya Yes ,Thanks , little creativity.👍👍

@Rohith. Honestly I was not aware that that's about one question posted in our site (When I replied to @NogShine).

@Rohith. See Code of Conduct which applies for chat too.

9:24 AM
@SwiftPushkar The room will be divine from 🕙 to 🕐

Very tempting

You can't ask 1 question on Dusshehra daily. second time it will become duplkicate

Code of Conduct includes targeting user too FYI.

@Pandya haha yes ,if everyone is ok with date and time then I will shedule it , let's wait for some responses.

@Rohith. There are 2 festivals and auspicious dates if we check calendar. You know

@SwiftPushkar noise

@NogShine I hope we don't need to visit and read CoC anytime; maintain healthy, constructive and peaceful environment. We are users of the site of which goal is to approach ultimate peace. Use your wisdom and solve the issue :) /cc @Rohith.

BTW @SwiftPushkar Thanks. :)

@Pandya but invite should be optional not ping everyone you can

@Pandya Yeah. I know but what to do? There are instances we have to repeat again and again

@Pandya No worry, I have already applied for account deletion. Just thought to chat before.

9:31 AM
@Rohith. applied for acount deletion just because for the shake of one question?

@Rohith. - Yes ,Do visit chat event if you are free.🌷

@Pandya No, the environment of the site has become ill. I am better without any association or notifications from this site.
@SwiftPushkar Thank you bro. I will try. :)

@SwiftPushkar 3 hours is too long.,

@NogShine scifi used to do chat event for 2+ hours for movie watching so 3 hours can also work if get enough participants. I am not into chat events much so can't say much.

@NogShine Yes , it's just for the convenience of all users.Those who will be busy in early morning will have chance to participate later on before lunch time.

9:38 AM
Hence proved again. Making personal comments is still tolerated on the site. So, have a great site experience. (P.S allowed in front of mods and RO)

@Rohith. no point of being so aggressive either, I don't have old context of this fights but your current chat doesn't seem much friendly either.

@AnkitSharma There are at least 10 users waytching and they invited me too.

@NogShine I don't like chat events as I am free talker and can't have restricted chat for a fix time being. But give it a attempt, if fail don't do again
@SwiftPushkar what happen in previous chat events? I mean did we hear did that longer event before or first time?

@AnkitSharma oh! sorry for disturbing. Actually he followed the pattern we (me and some others) used to use earlier.

@Pandya but can we say like you are the nuisance? Imagine if it's said to other site user or a mod? Messages would be invisible by now.
Specific to Hinduism.SE

9:43 AM
Btw, Naga Panchami and Garuda Panchami are same? @Rohith.

If I wasn't the one who is accused, I would move away those messages.

@Pandya I never attended any chat events here before. I am semi-religious and can't participate with that much enthusiasm as I might go skeptic here and there.

@AnkitSharma no-problem :)

@Pandya which question

@SwiftPushkar ok

9:45 AM
So, I am gonna ask many questions tomorrow with replacing each name from the list.
There are a great number of Hindu Religious Festivals held throughout the world.The festivals typically celebrate events from Hindu mythology, often coinciding with seasonal changes. There are many festivals which are primarily celebrated by specific sects or in certain regions of the Indian subcontinent. The festive season in India is the most widely celebrated and rejoiced by the people. Festivals not only have a historic significance to them, they are rooted in various cultural and linguistic norms associated with them. The festivities have their own spark, they bring together, or in other words...

@AnkitSharma I think this one

@All I want to know the story of after Mahabharata kuru family specially Parkshit and his dissidents online. I know very less
@Pandya I think calling own-self Narcissist might get you in negative light only and I don't feel it was needed to be mentioned there
Seems unnecessary
I feel question is fine but it might invite similar 364/365 more question so need to keep an eye.

@AnkitSharma there is a question where Keshav answered.

Q: Why is there a huge difference regarding the liberation of Parikshit in the Mahabharata and the Bhagavatam?

RaviThis site is overrun by Vaishnava Brahmins who are so close minded and feel themselves superior, yet know not even a grain of God. They are deleting my comments without permission, that highlights their reality and fear. Bunch of Keyboard warriors.

Q: Is there any mythological/scriptural reference linking Periyachi with Narasimha

Arjun VenkatramanI recently came across the deity Periyachi Amman (See pic). The iconography is very reminiscent of Narasimha (see other pic), though the story is rather different. @SwiftPushkar Never mind. I got the answer from Nog's schedule addition

6:53 PM
@RubelliteYakṣī is it compatible for you?

7:04 PM
@NogShine Irrelevant. I wouldn't ask that others change their plans on my behalf. Anyway, as a newcomer to Sanatana Dharma I will try to stay in the background and observe.
I'm glad H.SE is doing something though. I haven't heard a thing from my uni's South Asian Student Association nor from the Nepali Student Association all semester :/

@RubelliteYakṣī ok. Actually, they are the busy hours on a festival day for us too.

@NogShine I see. Well, I'll agree to whatever the community prefers. For me the current starting time is 23:30—so, rather late at night. But, I am willing to stay up a little late because I don't have much opportunity for such events where I live.
Sometimes new users will upvote answers, but forget to select a "best answer." Is there a good way to gently remind them to do so, and how long should one wait before sending such a reminder?

We can wait for two days if there are no other answers.
It happened to me too. They thanked me for an answer and forgot to upvote or accept the answer. I reminded that upvoting and accepting will make it visible that it is solved. But I didn't get a reply.

Okay. thanks for the info. After that period I'll add the recommendation as a comment and @ OP. 🙏
