@AviD Yes. That is true. I can attest of that. (I have not been officially diagnosed, but I am pretty sure I also have a light form of asperger, and that part is a bitch)
@M'vy the list of potential underlying causes... oh I don't know, how about lack of sleep this weekend, drugs, dehydration, very little food, bla bla bla bla bla
at no point did I say I'm worried in the slightest
the snap back to reality is always slightly painful
@RоryMcCune I gave up, just like 75% of the vulns I try to exploit. At some point, the exploitation leads me too deep into C that I just can't see the point anymore
This one seems to require a lot of knowledge about how file handling works
@RoryAlsop the suggestion was that they are worried about doing a "down round" where their valuation is lower than the last time they got more money, so they took on debt instead, but the terms make it kind of clear they're not doing well...
and you're like, well, I spent 2 hours travelling here, and 1 hour playing, and 2 hours travelling back, and you're paying me more money than I've spent this week, and I'm playing somewhere else tomorrow as well..
Or in the case of crazy things like Industrial, apparently the scene has been dead for years, whereas in reality it just keeps flowing, so many bands panic or die. We just keep playing our stuff, and sometimes we are called industrial, other times not...
@RoryAlsop, on your profile, I just spotted that you are a mensa member - here, those guys seemed all quite smug to me, so I left after the first meeting no not come back;)
@SmokeDispenser As an aside, I am secretary of the Mensda Security SIG - which is actually incredibly difficult to get input on. I'm trying to pull together some short papers for publishing in the SIG, but very few want to feed in to it.
@silverpenguin - I have gained almost nothing from being a member. It was a topic of conversation in some interviews, I guess. The magazine is generally interesting-ish
@silverpenguin no single one, no. @RоryM had a good list somewhere here of useful feeds. I need to thin my feed list down as while I get a bunch of good stuff, I'm no longer able to read it all each day
@SmokeDispenser actually, no - as soon as I can get 4 articles (or 6 depending on size) I can publish the next one. Previous Sec didn't have much luck getting responses - I am having slightly better luck, but it is tough.
@RoryAlsop So, if such proposed topic might be a fit, I'd be happy to write a roundup. What's the target audience? Technical people of "normal" people?;)
@SmokeDispenser Main audience is Security people who are also members of Mensa (Ie they signed up to the Security SIG) but it also goes to anyone else who wants to read it
It is online, but some papers from all the SIG's are chosen to go into the paper magazine
