yes, i spoke just like you at one point. i was like nah i want my pico vi is too much of a PITA. then i had to learn vi because there was no port of nano available on solaris systems I had to admin. never looked back.

@MarkBuffalo At one point I ran a system that tried random IPv4 addresses and connected on port 443, to see the kind of SSL server I would find.
It turned out that a number of systems use the same private key.
One of them corresponded to about 400000 deployed systems (apparently, some sort of router provided by an ISP in Italy).
A private key which is duplicated into 400000 deployed systems cannot be really "private".
 
400000 deployed systems is like a massive chunk of the home internet service in Italy, too
that's what happens when you get mafioso IT support

Do I need to unload a module manually at shutdown?
For example, with busybox I need to load modules from /etc/modules manually with a custom init.d script

@DavidFreitag To put things in perspective: kernel modules are essentially pieces of code that could have been compiled statically in the kernel; their main use is to be able to make a "generic" kernel that has a reasonable size, and can still support a lot of possible hardware through loadable modules.
If you load modules explicitly at boot time, then you should consider compiling such code as part of the kernel instead of a loadable module.

try changing the ip address maybe a conflict? it sounds like the connections are fine but you have the wrong network settings
but even still 0rx packets it weird
 
It's possible, I did just pull .155 from a dark damp place
I did try pinging that address before using it, and no response
 
so weird. 0RX packets would suggest either a broken connection e.g. bad vlan, bad subnets or bad gw... or a physical break e.g. cables...
or an out of pool address
