I'm beginning to wonder if they're not falling apart a little bit. I mean, the new profile rollout is going ridiculously slow. Now they're talking about re-defining what it means to be out of beta, essentially 'cause they can't handle the work of doing a full launch for every site as quickly as they're ready to come out...

They phased out custom site domains before we came out.

Eventually, there will be nothing differentiating beta from non-beta at all except for rep requirements to earn privileges. All sites with a custom theme/URL will become "legacy" sites and eventually will be unsupported and forced into the vanilla theme.
