Vacationed in LA. Housing prices crazy high compared to Wisconsin. I can see how other high earning EEs, not in the Midwest, aren't into real estate investing.

What are y'alls thoughts on EE test engineers? I make 70k now doing mostly fun R&D. Linkedin recruiter mentioned $105k-110k for "senior test engineer." I heard it pigeonholes an ECE career. Thoughts?

@adamaero I'd say test engineering slows down an engineering career (or even dead-ends, depending on circumstances). If one's career is in a dead end anyway, then test engineering is okay.

Have a bad Si7172DP-T1-GE3 in PowerPak SO-8, nothing available anywhere. Also check similar SI7172ADP-T1-RE3, SI7738DP-T1-GE3 (5pcs China, no thanks), SIDR570EP-T1-RE3, grasping at straws SIDR570EP-T1-RE3... nothing. Is Vishay like shut down or something? Running out of ideas.

@rdtsc Infineon has MOSFETs in PowerPak SO-8 too, iirc. Infineon may have named the package differently.
