If I recall correctly, pinging someone from chat here doesn't ping them unless they have been in chatroom recently. . . Is this correct? And if correct, how long since someone was in here is the limit?

@Marla Yes, that's correct. I have only a rough estimate how long a person remains pingable: around a week or two.
