Hey all ! I have an audio mixer with a dead transformer (120v unit presumably plugged into 240v by it's previous owner, which is presumably why it's dead). Works fine on the bench power supply..
It needs one with 18v-0-18v, but also a 48v winding for phanthom power, and I can't find any suitable off the shelf / custom-made ones which are less than the cost of just getting a used working mixer..
Can I just replace it with a toroidial transformer (custom ones seem to be cheap enough to to be worthwhile) ? Should I add an NTC for inrush current limiting? Any problems with sound from doing that (hum, etc..)

Just replace it with two transformers.

I haven't had much luck finding super tiny transformers either, and I would like to fit it all inside the case... Biggest gap where I could squeeze an extra transformer in is around 15mm
