The question electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/491483/… showed up in the recently active list, per the user "community". Nothing about the question, comments or answers had been edited recently. I am curious why it was marked as recently active. Was this done to encourage new answers to the question?

@MathKeepsMeBusy . . The community system does that periodically. Normal event
I think there is an answer to the "why" in META

@Marla Thanks.

Why is it beneficial that in op-amps, the closed-loop gain is independent of the open-loop gain variations(assuming the gain is properly high)? I read somewhere that "this is why op-amps are widely used as active elements in circuits". But I don't understand why.
My guess is that this way, one will only be required to control the behavior of the circuit by adjusting the frequency and not being required to consider the internal of the op-amp used as well?

@aderchox Is your question "Why is having a constant (closed-loop) gain a good thing?" or "Why does a large open-loop gain in an op-amp result in a consistent closed-loop gain?"
@MathKeepsMeBusy Because there are no up-voted answers, the question is considered "unanswered" by the system. It's getting bumped so people can either upvote the answer, or add a new answer of their own.

@W5VO I guess the latter one, but I don't know the first one as well.

@aderchox No, my question was why was the question showing up in the recently active list. Was it to spur people to give new answers?
@W5VO Thanks. That's sort of what I guessed.

6:01 PM
@aderchox Sorry, I got mixed up in the chat.

What sort of project would be better for a preteen (age 11-12), rather than building a computer?

building 2 computers, obviously :)
