On the topic of Arduino, does anyone know if they are even feasible to use EMC-wise? Anyone actually put one through formal EMC testing? Radiated susceptibility in particular?
My only personal experience for AVR is from nearly 20 years back when someone put one in an industrial control system and then that MCU went full muppet because of EMI. Wasn't a particularly nasty case either, just the usual 50Hz line noise plus a bunch of nearby relay coils (with flybacks). They had to add caps and pi filters all over the place to fix it. But this was early 2000s, maybe the parts have improved?
Atmel always had a rather bad reputation and the automotive branch always avoided them in favour of Freescale/NXP or Renesas parts, supposedly for EMC reasons.
