@ScientistSmithYT It's not like I'm at all disappointed in what my kids are doing. They do what they're goid at or interested in, and everybody is happy.
I don't want little cookie cutter kids made just like their mother and I. Our kids have grown to have their own idea and do their own things - and that's good.

@Micrified Why not ask that on the EE site? It's a perfectly good question about understanding something basic - and Mathjax works there, so your equations would be readable,

8:45 AM
@JRE There's a Mathjax script from Math.SE that I click and it renders it all in the browser for me. I didn't know you weren't seeing it rendered. Sorry

JRE
@Micrified No problem about the Mathjax. Still, that question would do better on the main site.

@JRE I'm writing it up now

Q: Understanding equation for the quality factor of an RLC circuit?

MicrifiedIn my textbook for a course on Circuit Analysis I came across an equation for the quality-factor of an RLC circuit. However, I don't quite understand their reasoning. The explanation that follows is a summary of what they provide me with: The quality factor can be defined using the impedance ...

Here it is

@Micrified Mathjax on EE uses \$ instead of $ to start inline math. Otherwise, it looks good.

Nice. I fixed the formatting now. Thanks

The site traffic keeps dropping.
I wonder if its because some users moved to Rpi and arudino

JRE
Is that just for EE? It looks just like the ones I saw recently for Stackoverflow.

Yep, just for EE
So maybe its not just EE then.

It's harder to contribute on SO now.
Well, there's just a lot of stuff that's already been answered, the new content usually has to be about newer technologies and is pretty niche.
I've got more questions to post on EE SE though.
But they're mostly academic type questions and not practical applications questions

@adamaero The school ramp up was muted this year
These laser distance sensors are awesome! (10um) Just wish they weren't so expensive

@VoltageSpike By "some users" we mean Olin. He haven't moved to RPi nor Arduino [I'm pretty sure].

@NickAlexeev There is that also, Olin was a major contributor. I'm also wondering if the new push for new users is having the opposite effect.
@NickAlexeev Do you know of a good SBC like an Raspberry pi that might be suitable for use in a product? With a few hardware uarts?

10:53 PM
@VoltageSpike Those kinds of SBC exist: buy.advantech.com/embedded_boards/low_power/dhtml-2265.htm
but I don't know any with the RPi kind of price
