@Marla sounds like he advocates doing difficult heart surgery to cure a cold for first semesters to see what could go wrong

Hm... looks like at US universities they play... the game of loans... ( interest is coming )

@PlasmaHH . . Many people I know don't repay student loans, figuring that the government will let them off in a few years. Sad
I am talking of adults who are re-training for other jobs.

@Marla does it? and whats the amount in actual numbers?
I had to pay back ~7kEUR, all system working as intended

amount of $40000 ($40k) and higher. And the government does let them get away with it.
there is a movement to forgive all student debt here in US.

@Marla a little backwards if you ask me, first they should get rid of tuitions and then find a way to give money to the people that need it (i.e. could otherwise not afford to go to university)
the system we have here is awful at many points, but at least the general idea behind it is ok

2:02 PM
@PlasmaHH there is work going on to get rid of tuition in US.

@Marla lets hope it doesn't arrive too late...

@Allenph That's probably just me having to repeat myself over and over: The reason cheap things from Amazon/eBay/AliX don't work as expected is most likely that they're cheap things from Amazon/eBay/AliX

No shit Sherlock
It looks like American express tries to get into the German/European market again aggressively... Let's guess if it turns out the same as the last times

Q: Does this appliance break UK safety laws?

Sod AlmightyGood evening. I recently purchased this active suction SMD pick-up tool from AliExpress: When it arrived, it seemed to work fine. However, when I opened it up (to investigate the feasibility of adding a switch), I was less than impressed with the build quality and safety of the unit. (I was a...

@NickAlexeev First sentence read, judgement: 75% chance of yes.

@Asmyldof Just from "Good Evening"?

@ThePhoton Yes

@ThePhoton Technically, he read the title, so that's two
but the title's probably enough anyways

@Asmyldof I'm not going to spend $20 for a rotary encoder for an arduino project.
I made it work reasonably well with some really interrupts. #CloseEnough

@Allenph Given that you are disinclined to spend $20 on a component, are we expected to spend $howmuch of our time debugging your cheapshit Arduino project?

@NickAlexeev Didn't ask to debug. Just asked if you'd seen that behavior in a rotary encoder before.
